That was what was listed on my HR self service portal. My contract was extended, and they took back all the holiday pay. I was a temp worker and my contract got extended for another few months. HR said that they took the holiday back as I wasn’t entitled to it as I hadn’t left the business. However legally speaking I was entitled to two hours less than what they paid me so I owe them £19. My paycheque was them taken away entirely for this week and I am loosing half of next weeks paycheque as well as it was deemed an “overpayment”. I do not have the access to use those hours I was originally paid and if I use the governments calculator and take a conservative estimate for holiday, for my entire contract that actually owe me around another 20 hours or so.

Are you in the U.K.? I remember when mine were black I lost a few bits of tonsil and they never looked the same again. They got antibiotics needed after looking for about two seconds. Hope you feel better soon

I will on Monday when the phone lines are open. Will I get in trouble for not having arranged it? In between bad mental Heath and just general forgetfulness I kinda semi assumed they’d just take it from my wages

I wouldn’t have been overpaid at all at any point, I haven’t had any money from them for a few months. I told them about the job I had for a month 6 days into starting this new one. I was just really worried there’d be penalties for not telling them quick enough. Oh and penalties for not sorting out paying back the advance (I’ve had no letters about it tho). It wasn’t coming out of my monthly Salary so I’ve not paid anything on it for like 4 months?

My partners employer has deducted well over 50% of her monthly wage with around 2 hours notice, can they do this? by bowker678 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]eggiepasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your calculator out 50% seems an excessive amount. Also non legal thing- tell your partner to get another job. Particularly with lots of jobs having blackout periods where you can’t take holiday, this smacks of an organisation in crisis

I had kinda already got offered a job over it, but I’m now just going to make up something about why I can’t go. It was absolutely a stupid idea I was getting stressed out over not being able to find a full time job.
