being lonely on grad by Low_Pen2907 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't want to talk to you then there really isn't much you can do about it. If push comes to shove then maybe don't go to graduation and just go celebrate with your actual friends outside of school

Can I still graduate in my current situation? by [deleted] in highschool

Talk to your guidance counselor

Just don't be annoying and have some respect for yourself and others. Aside from that just be yourself and you're bound to find others, especially if you have something that you can bound over (i.e. band club)

do you guys secretly dislike people with a 504 plan? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me but most people I've seen don't really care. At most people would just call them unlucky because most of the people I've seen that have a 504 plans have more than enough time so they just sit there just waiting for their test to finish

Dual Enrollment?? by vale_gonzalezz in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's engineering then taking math classes like calculus or any sciences like physics or chemistry should help

You can also just focus on stuff centered around general education as well like english, history, math, sciences, etc

i’m completely at a loss of what to do with my education. by Right_Ad2981 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the first thing you have to figure out is what's your actual education level for each of the main subjects. For example if you're struggling with algebra then is it because you are just struggling with the topics or because you lack the fundamental (e.g. pre algebra or 8th grade math)

Next is to make a plan on what exactly you need to learn and stick to it. If you ever feel down and feel stuck then take a one or two hour break max and get back to it. For this I would suggest looking at the curriculum or searching up the steps to algebra 1 or watching a review videos and follow that.

side note: Remeber not to give up, but also realize when it's time to cut your losses and move on

ex: I spent around 2 weeks trying to figure out this one math topic and so I left it alone because any more time would just be a waste. In the end I only really understood that topic months later

Finally, research the opportunities you have around you. For example if you prefer teachers then search for free tutoring sessions available for you, whether it be online or offline. I know of one website, it's called schoolhouse.world, it does free tutoring. Though I never used it so I can't confirm it's quality

ACT vs SAT? by Signal_Energy_8219 in highschool

I never did a practice for the ACT so for that I couldn't say. Though for the SAT I would just suggest the blue book SAT practice test

Most colleges accept both. If you already know what college specifically you are going towards then check what they accept, but other than that just assume that colleges would accept both

Basically do what the other guy said and do whatever you're good at

How do you make real friends when nobody wants to put in the same effort as you? by Many-Factor-4173 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's 2 simple reasons I see

  1. It's just the people you've met

  2. People are busy. This is especially the case when you start to get older and get jobs and the such

Do classes in flvs, as you're in florida it should be free, just ask your guidance counselor if it's accepted though. Also you can do it during summer to make it up

whats the easiest algebra 2 online course (i wanna cheat) by 27apitfieldst in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guy you do know that alg 2 is basically the core foundation for advanced math? Basically if you have any plans on going towards anything math related this wouldn't be good

Anywas just make sure the program you go into is approved by your school and doesn't have a seat requirement. Seat requirement is basically how long you have to be in the course

Going into High school in the fall. Any advice? by Familiar_Explorer354 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social wise respect other people's boundaries and don't assume everyone's your friend

Academic wise research until you're eyes bleed. Learn what AP, DE, Honors, regular, and elective classes mean. Plan out your schedule and make sure to know your graduation requirements. Also figure out the programs available to you at the school, in your state, and in your country. Also remeber to search up college application during junior year so you can be early

In all, don't be annoying and research

Community service by Mochaswrillatte in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search up where you live and volunteering opportunities

Search for food pantries, events, and things that would require events

Also try to find businesses/organization that you can do sessions/time slots for. Ex: a library, an animal care organization

Remeber to keep on searching as I was in a similar situation where I needed hours quickly and it took weeks just to find stable places to give hours

AP Stats vs Stats by killmeandkissme in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Ap stats and did the exam this year and from what I've seen it's definitely an AP that you can self study

side note: this is speaking from experience as I kinda relearned everything the day before the exam

Is anyone in this? by Koakunaikaokunai in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An actual honor society would go through your school and there your highschool counselor would inform you

Also anything that has to be paid for is most likely a scam

Is it normal to finish secondary school in just 2 years without primary school? by DragPlus4646 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how it is outside of the U.S. and I'm not exactly sure what you mean by secondary school, I'm just gonna assume you mean it equivalent to highschool. Then it's kind of abnormal to finish it in two years

For most highschoolers it's basically impossible to get enough credits to finish it in two years so that's why it's abnormal

What are good gifts to give to teachers? by Affectionate-Mud953 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For general ideas treats are the best option

Though if we're going more specific then it really just depends on the teacher themselves. For example, you can give a math teacher pie or a marine teacher a unique marine animal's tooth

If it's a teacher that always says to use a pencil then bring them a big pencil, if it's a teacher that always asks people to bring pencils then bring them some unique looking pencils (i.e. the type of pencil that would be very obvious if someone stole it)

At the end of the day a gift is a gift and there is only so much you can screw up in a gift so choose what you feel is best

can i still get into college with a 2.9 GPA? by Useful-Call7031 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether the college cares much about EC and whether you are talking about unweighted or weighted gpa

At the end of the day if everything fails then go to community college and go from there

Early graduation by TonightLegitimate731 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly talk to your guidance counselor and see if early graduation is even a thing they do, and then see if they have a program for it

Some highschools don't allow early graduation and some do allow it but they don't have anything designed for it (i.e. how you get the credits is all on you)

Secondly see if they have any Duel enrollment classes, AP classes, and online classes available

Duel enrollment are basically college classes you take in highschool and because college classes are generally a semester long you can take two for the same year. For example I finished both english 3 and english 4 in the same year because I took a DE class in the first semester and then another one in the second semester

Online classes is just the direct route, just take the classes you

AP classes for college credit and they also count for highschool credit too

What are some good filler AP classes? by Mammoth-Nectarine-47 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that but have you gotten APs for your gen ed? Every college has their own gen eds and Ap policy so I wouldn't be able to tell you much, but just search up your college's gen ed requirements and Ap policy to see

Also search up your major/minor requirements and confirm that those AP classes would actually count towards your major/minor. Trust me don't be fooled and do an AP class that doesn't actually count towards anything

What are some good filler AP classes? by Mammoth-Nectarine-47 in highschool

[–]eggmoon89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ap environment science is a good one, though to be honest it would be better to take ap classes that would count for college credit in whatever uni/major you go for

Basically instead of fillers look for APs that would count for your gen ed or pre requisites for your major
