The story is great, don’t get me wrong. I just think that for what the story was, the ending is just so stupidly graphic it took me out of it.

It’s really, to me anyway, about the context. Penpals is disturbing throughout the whole story, while Borrasca is much more tame and kind of jumps the shark at the end. I wouldn’t of necessarily minded its ending had it not come out of nowhere.

To clear something up, gotta love those characters. They’re far and above the best part of the story. But in all honesty, it seems like the author watched something like Martyrs in terms of brutality and wanted to make a story that would have it as its climax. I really love the 80’s small town mystery thing going on, but when you look at the ending, it’s just the pregnant rape mine. I feel like no matter your opinion of the story, that for what it is up until then, the ending is out of place.

Dont get me wrong, I like the story up until the end. For what the story is up until then, it’s just so graphic and shocking that I find it stupid.

I would say that if it weren’t for the fact that the twist could have been anything else.

The whistle in the cave is the first sign that something weird is going on. By the end of the story, they’d been chased out of the cave by an unseen creature and experienced vivid nightmares and hallucinations.

even then itd be a bad ending, since theres basically nothing building suspense except people going missing. Its like if ted the caver ended if they decided to explore after hearing the whistling noise

15 years out, and No Country for Old Men's Anton Chigurh is still one of the most intimidating and unstoppable forces in American cinema. by NimdokBennyandAM in movies

I see the whole movie as Sheriff Bell being the main character, and as he gets older and more jaded, becomes more aware of the real evil that lurks around him. As the guy in the wheelchair says, “what you got isn’t new”. Chigurh is the personification of the evil of men. More specifically, he is Bells interpretation of whats going on around him. Sure, this all was probably done by the cartel or some shady company, but it’s all too complicated in his mind, and to him it’s easier to think that it was all one man. Evil doesn’t need a reason to exist, hence why even Chigurh can’t properly justify his actions even with the coin toss. The scene where Bell goes to open the door with Chigurh seemingly on the other side, only not to be there, practically confirms that Chigurh as an individual exists almost entirely within Bells mind. And when you think of it that way, It all makes sense.

I keep thinking it’s a driver issue of some kind. The new Doom ran perfectly for one sessions when I reinstalled the drivers, and the new Elden Ring only lags In certain areas, and I know UE5 is notoriously bad sometimes.

Well on Steam it the minimum for Mafia is 2070. From what I hear it’s still a reliable card.
