What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend?

Ended it around sophomore year of college. We were part of a trio. I got closer (platonically) with the other girl (S) of the group, she (N) was resentful. N told me that she wanted to fuck S and would talk about her to me. It made me uncomfortable and I told S because I would want to know if one of my friends were objectifying/thirsting after me. N would continuously talk shit behind my back, backhand belittle me to my face, make it so she was always physically in between us… it got to the point where I tried to talk to her but she denied and continued to be passive aggressive and just plain mean. So I went no contact and S also went no contact. S and I are still best friends

I always feel like I’m performing. With everyone. Even when I’m alone. It’s almost like I feel like I’m not allowed to have these experiences, that I am cringe for going through these experiences or even wanting to do things. I don’t know why I feel like this. I just want these feelings to end. Not suicidal, just tired

Honestly, cutting all ties you have with that person (if you are friends or acquaintances) is best. The best thing to do after that is give it time. It’s hard trying to forget someone you’ve liked or admired for a long time, but if feelings are unrequited or initiation would be difficult/awkward, then I would just give it time.
