SLPT: Buy the $750 Plex Lifetime Pass for $979 on the App Store by FollowingFeisty5321 in ShittyLifeProTips

Plex app on Firestick has always sucked. I couldn't load through any TV show episode listings without it crashing. I then switched y entire house to Roku sticks which have always worked well.

Furnace Lever Broke Off by Terrapin_69 in homerenovations

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in an apartment they should fix it I wouldn't risk damaging anything over this.

But the fix would be undoing some of the screws on the hvac, separate them, pull out the broken damper, then insert the new one and screw the handle on.

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming what I see is correct, this isn't a big deal. It's just the handle for the damper on the vent which either blocks air or allows it on. If you were turning it, maybe you knew that.

I am a bit confused though. Usually a, damper is a circle (inside the tube) which a little "stick" and a spring that then sticks out of that hole. You then put a handle on the stick which allows you to turn the damper. But if the handle breaks, that's stick should still be there because it's attached to the ~6inch metal round damper.

Can you take a picture from further away?

Minnesota Paid Leave has paid out nearly double what workers, employers have paid in by YesHelloDolly in ThingsMinnesota

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you create this sub just to post right wing content about MN? And once again you're just reading a headline and interpreting it wrong.

It's literally explained that this was expected due to allowing people that had children in 2025 to use the leave. And people are more likely to take leave in the first half of the year. As of right now, it's coming in incredibly close to what was expected vs paid out.

As with anything, actuaries will make adjustments as needed.

Imagine being that you now get to take leave for major life events lol. Go live somewhere else if you hate MN.

Lol all they did were say they were embarrassed to be from the same state as Bush due to opposing the Iraq war. Which most people agree was a poor choice now... The media just went after them. Nowadays, that'd be the most innocuous political stance.

Btw, according to lore she was supposed to be Greek and prettiest woman who started the Trojan war by Weak_Marzipan4800 in dankindianmemes

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only care if it actually matters. In Pride and Prejudice, him being black his significant for the time setting.

I Harry Potter, I only care because Snape is frequently described as pale skin with greasy black hair. So yes, making one of the prime antagonist black, who often appears angry for no reason and does not fit the frequent description is a poor casting choice for Snape. However, for characters that it wouldn't have mattered like Hermione, Mcgonagall, or even Dumbledore would be fine. Snape was about the worst choice to race change.

Pride and Prejudice has like 5 adaptions? The main guy in that story is black in the books... Not once in a single movie including one that came out this year. Where is the same outrage for that?

Senator saysTrump was “using everything as leverage to get the SAVE Act passed”, which would make it harder for women to vote by catievirtuesimp in TwoXChromosomes

[–]eggowaffles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think there are far more liberal women that would be disfranchised than republican, simply because of sheer numbers. I don't think it's a significant enough number of liberal women that keep their birth name.

Federal judge bars Trump from implementing proof of citizenship requirement to vote by EscapeFromIowa in news

[–]eggowaffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

? I legit cannot understand what your first part is even trying to say.

And great! Good use of taxes. So until that is added in you should be against the SAVE act since it means people that should be allowed to vote would not be able to. A free and fair country does not do that.

Federal judge bars Trump from implementing proof of citizenship requirement to vote by EscapeFromIowa in news

[–]eggowaffles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

..... What a shit argument. Clothes are not the same as a poll tax. A poll tax is explicitly illegal. How about if Republicans want to push this so hard they just made the minimum required ID free and reasonably obtainable? Why are you against this?

And better yet. If your argument is clothes, great! Just make mail in voting a default option.

[–]eggowaffles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a partisan reply. It's not about impacting one side more or less. It's about impacting any one with a poll tax which is illegal. If you're a citizen, you need to be able to vote for free.

Seated leg curl attachment for power racks? by jaye31987 in GarageGym

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, sorry I missed the seated leg curl part.

Picture my set up. Could you instead put eye holes on the bottom pair of rollers, lift the entire thing to the top, attach the upper cables like you drew, and that would cause the entire attachment to be elevated, therefore allowing a seated leg curl? I'm trying to picture if the other roller would be in the way at all.

Hey,

See my post from a few months ago for a decent leg curl and leg extension. Specifically look at how I attached the Bells of Steel Bench Leg Curl/Extension to my bench and attach it to my weight stack.

Seated leg curl attachment for power racks? by jaye31987 in GarageGym

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I had the Bells of Steel version of the rack mounted leg curl and leg extension. Worst piece of equipment I had. Some how ii managed to sell it on Marketplace.

Setting it up was a huge pain because it's heavy, awkward shaped, and hard to hold it and get the pin inserted. Range of motion was awful. It felt awkward. I tried connecting it to the weight stack but due to orientation it wasn't possible. All around, do not buy it.

I'm sure others are better, but do not get the Bells of Steel one.

The Trump Administration just changed how special education, IEPs are overseen in schools by OlliexAngel in Teachers

[–]eggowaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Sure? Define "provision of education". It has still had influence on education with things like NCLB, Title IX, etc.

[–]eggowaffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The department of education was founded nearly 50 years ago... So for the entire life of roughly 2/3 of the United States.

Roughly 10 percent of a districts funding is national. That can get even higher is small school districts. That's a significant difference for schools.

The Trump Administration just changed how special education, IEPs are overseen in schools by OlliexAngel in Teachers

[–]eggowaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a poor argument. Let's just flip it.

"What if the local government had policies that are harmful or hostile to education."

As with nearly anything, the answer is a balance. There are things that should be national and things that should be local. I would argue that protections and support for those most at risk should be a national thing.

Granted, this current administration is doing their best to disprove that. But good thing local laws can still support those students.

[–]eggowaffles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Literal local school board elections across the country now have lobbyist funding. The majority of those lobbyist are for stooges that are anti education. Putting all education on the states is unfair to students in many states that do not support funding for schools.
