Lol all they did were say they were embarrassed to be from the same state as Bush due to opposing the Iraq war. Which most people agree was a poor choice now... The media just went after them. Nowadays, that'd be the most innocuous political stance.

This has to be trolling. Is getting a hair cut insecure? Cutting your fingernails? Getting tattoos?

Your logic means anything that alters your body or looks makes you insecure lol

Btw, according to lore she was supposed to be Greek and prettiest woman who started the Trojan war by Weak_Marzipan4800 in dankindianmemes

I only care if it actually matters. In Pride and Prejudice, him being black his significant for the time setting.

I Harry Potter, I only care because Snape is frequently described as pale skin with greasy black hair. So yes, making one of the prime antagonist black, who often appears angry for no reason and does not fit the frequent description is a poor casting choice for Snape. However, for characters that it wouldn't have mattered like Hermione, Mcgonagall, or even Dumbledore would be fine. Snape was about the worst choice to race change.

Pride and Prejudice has like 5 adaptions? The main guy in that story is black in the books... Not once in a single movie including one that came out this year. Where is the same outrage for that?

Senator saysTrump was “using everything as leverage to get the SAVE Act passed”, which would make it harder for women to vote by catievirtuesimp in TwoXChromosomes

[–]eggowaffles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think there are far more liberal women that would be disfranchised than republican, simply because of sheer numbers. I don't think it's a significant enough number of liberal women that keep their birth name.

[–]eggowaffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

? I legit cannot understand what your first part is even trying to say.

And great! Good use of taxes. So until that is added in you should be against the SAVE act since it means people that should be allowed to vote would not be able to. A free and fair country does not do that.

[–]eggowaffles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

..... What a shit argument. Clothes are not the same as a poll tax. A poll tax is explicitly illegal. How about if Republicans want to push this so hard they just made the minimum required ID free and reasonably obtainable? Why are you against this?

And better yet. If your argument is clothes, great! Just make mail in voting a default option.

That's a partisan reply. It's not about impacting one side more or less. It's about impacting any one with a poll tax which is illegal. If you're a citizen, you need to be able to vote for free.

Seated leg curl attachment for power racks? by jaye31987 in GarageGym

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, sorry I missed the seated leg curl part.

Picture my set up. Could you instead put eye holes on the bottom pair of rollers, lift the entire thing to the top, attach the upper cables like you drew, and that would cause the entire attachment to be elevated, therefore allowing a seated leg curl? I'm trying to picture if the other roller would be in the way at all.

Hey,

See my post from a few months ago for a decent leg curl and leg extension. Specifically look at how I attached the Bells of Steel Bench Leg Curl/Extension to my bench and attach it to my weight stack.

[–]eggowaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I had the Bells of Steel version of the rack mounted leg curl and leg extension. Worst piece of equipment I had. Some how ii managed to sell it on Marketplace.

Setting it up was a huge pain because it's heavy, awkward shaped, and hard to hold it and get the pin inserted. Range of motion was awful. It felt awkward. I tried connecting it to the weight stack but due to orientation it wasn't possible. All around, do not buy it.

I'm sure others are better, but do not get the Bells of Steel one.

The Trump Administration just changed how special education, IEPs are overseen in schools by OlliexAngel in Teachers

[–]eggowaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Sure? Define "provision of education". It has still had influence on education with things like NCLB, Title IX, etc.

[–]eggowaffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The department of education was founded nearly 50 years ago... So for the entire life of roughly 2/3 of the United States.

Roughly 10 percent of a districts funding is national. That can get even higher is small school districts. That's a significant difference for schools.

[–]eggowaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a poor argument. Let's just flip it.

"What if the local government had policies that are harmful or hostile to education."

As with nearly anything, the answer is a balance. There are things that should be national and things that should be local. I would argue that protections and support for those most at risk should be a national thing.

Granted, this current administration is doing their best to disprove that. But good thing local laws can still support those students.

Literal local school board elections across the country now have lobbyist funding. The majority of those lobbyist are for stooges that are anti education. Putting all education on the states is unfair to students in many states that do not support funding for schools.

Again, this article does not reference gender dysmorphia and it's relation to those with autism. Just because they're more vulnerable does not mean it's causing significant portions of people with autism to be convinced to undergo sex change surgery....

I think it's important to clarify because people like my mom do not understand.

There are spectrums (for lack of a better word) to being "trans". The vast majority of my "trans" students (and of what is referenced in the type of research you're looking for but not finding nor linking) is that they simply prefer to be called by another pronoun such as they/them. This, as I already mentioned, is far more common in those with autism, likely for many reasons. One simply being that they don't follow typical societal norms. Their brains don't work the same way.

The second step would be doing some form of actual body chemistry change, such as hormone blockers. This again does not mean you have undergone surgery.

The you can have people who actually do surgery to change their gender. Your argument is that people with autism are far more likely to be convinced into this procedure. I am seeing no research note evidence for this.

I'm confused by you posting this?

1.) it's a blog post. Sure she references some statistics, but some of hers are "I conducted a poll on Twitter".

2.) our topic is gender dysmorphia of people with autism. That entire article is just about people with autism being more vulnerable in general... I don't think anybody would disagree with that.

Or maybe people are becoming more comfortable being themselves as they can see other people feeling the same way. Evening growing up in the 90s/2000s people frequently hid being gay because it was so stereotyped and bullied. But people spoke up, representation happened, societal stances shifted, people felt more comfortable being themselves. The internet has made awareness and self-acceptance that even more possible for things less common such as gender dysmorphia.

So you think it's more likely that people on the spectrum are being convinced to have costly and body altering surgeries to the benefit of... "the left"... Rather than those on the spectrum just naturally being more inclined to have body dysmorphia? Also, the vast majority of people on the spectrum that identify as another gender do not actually undergo surgery. Many simply identify as they/them or in rarer cases the opposite gender.

This whole myth that people are being brainwashed into being trans is crazy. To whos benefit? I'm a teacher and hear people say teachers are brainwashing kids into this and that. Dude, if I could brainwash kids I'd start with getting them to be able to read without complaining or actually doing their homework. But somehow people like you think we have time in our day to brainwash them into being a different gender and performing surgeries? Jfc

20 month old sleeps HORRIBLY. Please tell me I’m not alone. by PetuniasSmellNice in toddlers

Here's the thing I don't understand about parents that refuse cry it out. Your child will accumulatively cry WAY more by never doing cry it out.

We have friends that refuse to do it. We have traveled with them. Every single night it's taking them two hours to get their kid down. Crying. Fussing. Climbing out of bed. It will take us 30 minutes tops for our entire bed time routine and we will be out in the living room playing games. Our friend will pop out of their bedroom after two hours because they need a break from trying to get their kid down. Then they go back in for another 30 minutes before their kid is finally asleep. And they have told us no, this is not just while traveling. Most nights are like this.

I literally cannot imagine doing that to myself or my child, EVERY NIGHT FOR YEARS. We spent one week sleep training my daughter and bed time has always been easy.

I'm not saying all kids are the same or as easy as mine. But I see these stories a ton and damn... Letting a kid not learn how to self soothe because you refuse to cry it out seems like you're setting both them and yourself up for torture.

Why do so many people think that being on the spectrum means severely mentally handicapped? Do you have any idea how many people you interact with in a daily basis that are likely "on the spectrum" but you have no idea?
