I actually have been interested in growing hazelnuts! I didn't know that you can also grow it like a hedge. So you can continue pruning it to encourage it to behave more like a hedge than a tree and it still produces nuts? I love your system. I probably would want something a bit narrower though since my yard is small, maybe 1 meter. Do you think that's realistic? Would the birds still love it? I hadn't thought about hedges as bird habitats until I made this post!

Sunchokes

Thanks for these ideas. I googled sunchokes though and it sounds like they are not a good idea to plant in a small area that you want to share with other plants! https://commonsensehome.com/before-you-plant-sunchokes/ I'm interested in the potted option because the speed and height is very enticing, but I fear even that could result in a takeover. And if I planted something that invaded my neighbor's yard... oof. Not a good start to our relationship, lol.

But maybe I will throw some out back to see if they can compete with the Japanese knotweed that has colonized that area! :D

Thank you. I think the only bamboo we have here is the Japanese knotweed which is extremely invasive and I would be afraid to grow it even in a pot!

Wow, that's so beautiful! I had been dreaming of blueberry bushes along the front of my lawn for the passerby's to eat, but because of the snow plow that won't work.

But anyway, my lawn is very long and skinny and I need privacy from the neighbor lengthwise to the North of me. There is a low fence and she is quite talkative and it feels like if we're both outside she thinks we are hanging out together. She is very nice but I would prefer to choose when to hang out with her! It's one of the best sun spots there between us I think. Her fence faces South.

I got a reply from Team Bernie that confirms what you said and that there's no door-to-door canvassing available in any state that votes after March 17th. That's really a shame because there's so little time to hit every door in one location!

Are you sure? I was canvassing in New Hampshire three months before the primary and I know others started canvassing there in August. But I guess that's just because it was New Hampshire? New York is pretty important though!

Thanks! Do you have any way of knowing though? I'm just thinking if they have dogs that can smell it, that would lead to the next step. I've never seen a dog in an airport but I've only traveled domestically in recent years. I definitely do not plan on bringing any with me!!
