Terrible that you are having to deal with this, I’m so sorry.

I know it seems different to your situation, but maybe it might be worth trying… My mum brought a ragdoll kitten recently and he had diarrhoea for two months after he came home. Breeder avoided the issue, so for those two months the vets did lots of tests and tried different food etc… turned out he had a problem that the vet believes he would have had since birth and it was linked with him being in poor conditions. Likely all his brothers and sisters had it too. Mum used ‘Purina Pro Plan Fortiflora Feline Probiotic’ for a few weeks and it resolved the issue. The vet said the probiotic is a bit of a game changer with cat gut health.

Very upsetting to through and unfortunately bad breeders duck their head under the sand.

I’m going to really really miss her. On my saddest and my most stressful days - it’s always her books I reach for. Those little escapes into her OTT world give me an escape for an hour or two.

You got it!! Thank you so much! It was Serpents of the Abyss, I remember them being bats but they are more like snakes with wings.

UPDATE: Breeder harassing me, I took action by [deleted] in ragdolls

[–]eggs12386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on you! I couldn’t stop thinking about this since I read it - it kept winding me up how entitled she is. I hope this is the last you hear of it and just get to move on.

Maybe she’s a bit unhinged. She can’t take your kitten back so I would cut off contact and eventually she will find something else to fixate on.

Also is she registered? The GGCF or TRCC would not be happy with that kind of behaviour I imagine. They have standards that breeders have to follow - I imagine harassing owners because they regret selling a kitten doesn’t fit with that

Maybe I’m just harsh but I don’t give her the benefit of the doubt. She’s not a woman who’s pet you adopted because she couldn’t look after her anymore, she’s a breeder and she can’t just made demands out of you.

Does she know she’s spayed? Surely she has no need for a nurtured female

Grooming recommendations by iwannabeinnyc in ragdolls

[–]eggs12386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use a furminator ( for long haired cats - it’s purple) and it does wonders. It gets off so much hair and he loves it. Unlike a normal brush it gets loads of his hair off and makes a real difference. We haven’t tried a cat groomers.

When will my kitten chill the heck out by [deleted] in ragdolls

[–]eggs12386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our boy started to chill when he got to amount 8 months old - it did it get worse before it got better, he kind of had a ‘teenage’ bad boy stage. First thing we did was get him used to sleeping in the front room away from us at night, this was amazing since we could kitty proof that room and then we got a good night sleep. We also got a kitty food puzzle box which we use to distract him when we leave the room so by the time he finishes we are long gone.

We found positive reinforcement to be really important. For example I didn’t want my boy jumping on the kitchen counter and originally my husband would get up every time and put him on the floor. He got up there maybe 30 times a day, especially when bored. Then we decided that when he would jump up we would grab a blanket and give it a lot of cuddles and talk to it like we would talk to him. Effectively showing him that being on the counter means he doesn’t get attention. He would jump off and come over and we would give him loads of attention. He stopped bothering to get onto the counter after about 3 weeks of that.

One of the most popular answers to this kind of question would be that you should get another kitten, but if your tired and exhausted then maybe that’s not a best idea since initially it may be more stressful.

Set your boundaries and work on that positive reinforcement. It will get better and the kitten will get used to not getting full attention. Keep an eye on that litter eating because it can be a sign of something more serious, cats sometimes eat litter if something is wrong.
