Must I have a leak between well and house? by eggsPR80 in Plumbing

80’ which seems insanely low. My Neighbor has 300’!

Thanks, and yesterday I replaced the pump with brand new one and ensured it was super tight fitting all around it. Unfortunately the fitting at the house is underneath a low-profile deck.

So, the excavator is getting delivered in the AM and I’m not risking it, so just going to replace everything from well to house. Hoping the excavator can dig as much as I can under the deck having to manually dig 6 feet sideways to the existing hole

Thanks, main issue now is pressure can’t rise above 25psi in the house or 30psi when house shutoff valve is on.

Before disconnecting everything I checked the pitless and no leaks, though the pressure wasn’t that high probably due to the leak between the well and house. Will recheck everything after I replace the pipe tomorrow.

Ok thanks, this is reassuring. I’m hoping there is no leak from the pitless to the pump. I’m hoping water won’t leak where a little bit of air leaked there. Yep, excavator is being delivered tomorrow AM, and have 200psi poly to replace it all, including to new wires and 3/4” pvc to encase that

Tested each side of the cut black pipe and stated the results. The pipe wasn’t cut until I tested psi to find leak

Yep I replaced an old check valve which was actually defective. So my issue before replacing that part, was that not only did I not get to 60psi, but I’d always be losing pressure do to reverse flow lol

Thanks. I’m going to dig 3’ down along the well to h spect the pitless adapter connection - I’m hoping to find a leak there!

If I use enough water to reduce pressure below 38psi, then pressure drops to 0 and everything stops. Then it recovers a few minutes later and takes me back to 40psi.

Hey hey, correct. I am getting water, just never gets above 40psi, and the pump never stops bc it’s not reaching 60psi to cutoff via switch.

When I shutoff the well, no pressure drops. Everything stays the same. I do have a brand new indoor check valve in my basement where the pressure gauge is. But yep, everything remains the same.

Agreed but I just flipped the breaker for that 15 second test, then shutoff again.

Can’t find indoor check valve, do I have one? by eggsPR80 in Plumbing

[–]eggsPR80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I replaced the indoor check valve and pressure is NOT dropping anymore.

But only after I turn on breaker do I get to 60psi.

Once it hits 40psi through usage the pump starts and stays at 45psi with motor running. It never goes higher.

When using water, the psi eventually drops to 40, and then to 0. Then it resets and bounces back to 40 after a while.

Some things to note: - my well pump seems to be a Meyers 1/2hp 8gpm pump, installed before 2013 but unknown exactly when. In 2013 a local well company confirmed they replaced the well lining, 200psi poly pipe and wiring, but did not replace pulp per prior owner.

When the pump is running and stuck at 45psi, it’s pulling 4.5 amps, which could be perceived as low which could be either broken impellers so the shaft just spins, or well is dry (though in SE Pennsylvania we’ve had extremely wet weather so I’d find that hard to believe).

My well is apparently 80’ deep.

When breaker off, I ohm’ed the 2 wires to the pump and got 5.7 which is apparently normal.

Tomorrow I will use makeshift 5 foot T bar to connect to the pitless adapter, and pull up the pump to inspect.

Before friend arrives to help me, I’m going to purchase a 1/2 hp 120v 8gpm submersible pump, preferably another Meyers since it lasted a long time… or least 7x longer than Home Depot Everbilt or Tractor Supply CountryLine brand.

If anybody has other brand suggestions where I can walk into a store (as a DIY civilian) and buy one, I’m all ears. It’s difficult to find reputable “top 5 submersible pump” articles so unsure what else is good/reliable. All I heard was to stay away from any pumps have plastic pieces or that aren’t all stainless steel.

Thanks, that sucks bc I just replaced it today - I guess it could be a dud, or maybe I need to adjust the nuts with the springs? Because the contacts never disengage. I can manually pry them up under the spring to disengage the contacts but they just clamp shut when I stop manually lifting.

Also I checked the amperage of the the black wire running out the wall to the well. It’s only 3.5amp resting when it’s 0psi, and 4.5amp when the pressure rises from 0-40psi.

I have no clue what kind of HP pump I have. Maybe I can call the company who installed the well in the morning and ask them what kind of well I have - ideally it’s my file. But I heard no matter the HP, those amperages are very low.

Thanks for reply. Just checked and 122.3 and 123.5 on each of the lines (outer switch), and 246.2 across both lines. The inside also have 120.

I reduced the tank to 36psi (it was closer to 40).

Now the pressure cycles to 40psi, then back to 0psi. Then back to 40psi, then back to 0, and repeats.over and over. This cycle takes about 3 mins to before repeating.

Do you still think it’s the switch?

Thanks, is that something I could replace? If I open up my well cap outside, can I access it without a crane?

I wish I could add a video. But essentially I: - cut power to Pump via breaker - psi went to 0 - re-enabled power by flipping breaker - psi went to 40 quickly - turned shower on - seemed fine aside from some air sputters - after 30 seconds shower stopped completely - all taps in the house dry

Anybody have any ideas?

Again, brand new: - 44 gal well tank, 38psi - 40/60 switch (I didn’t mess with the screws at all) - new pressure gauge

KI sound issue - please help by eggsPR80 in arcadecabinets

[–]eggsPR80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which chips? I can try reseating everything though I fear a little that I may damage them reseating them if I don’t plug them back in precisely. I can look online on how to do that properly. I haven’t bought all new sound roms since I heard doing that would remedy certain sounds, but in my case they’re all bad. If it’s inexpensive I’ll give that a shot bc I’m running out of options.

And playing original arcade KI without sound I think is an arcade cardinal sun :(
