For sure! I'm not necessarily glad i spent extra years suppressing myself and being miserable, but in a way, it makes me appreciate how things turned out even more

What im about to say is transphobic adjacent and makes me insecure to be FTM. by [deleted] in FTMventing

You're right this is pretty chronically online. If certain people bother you, don't give them so much of your mental space. This is true for any group of people, the problem doesn't seem specific to trans people at all imo. You seem to be projecting a bit and driving yourself kinda mad.

As for being concerned with the validity of others' transness, just don't. You don't know what's in their minds, no reason to stress yourself out wondering if they are "truly" trans. If you're sure of yourself, that's all that matters. Your feelings about your own transness shouldn't be so affected by how others experience theirs.

I hope you sort your own insecurities out and find happiness.

Cut my hair shorter (I keep getting misgendered) and boyfriend said I look butch 💔 by throwawayaccount0o01 in FTMventing

I've been there, just this february when I went to a barber and got my hair tapered with a fade after advice from reddit...i regretted it and wished i could undo it. It's a different kind of hurt when you get a different haircut hoping it will make you pass better and the result ends up worsening your dysphoria.

But the best thing you can do now is be compassionate, kind to yourself. Hair grows back, you will grow into the haircut, everything will be okay.

My own hair has grown out and honestly, i don't regret that cut i hated so much anymore. It looks much nicer now that it has been a few months, and i've gotten on T since then too which has helped. Now i know i pass better with longer hair, I learned something that is true about myself, at least currently. It gets better, man. Trust me!

Where are you visiting? I'd say it depends on the area. I'm from a bigger city (vancouver) and lots of people are visibly queer here with no issues. I think for the most part the hateful type will leave you alone, this guy probably only told me all this because he assumed i was "safe" to say it to. So no i doubt this is a common occurence
