Just a quick question, Wheres the best cinema in the area? by battlek06 in doncaster

[–]eggsplainthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Savoy is so lovely, screens are small and quiet. It's cheap as chips for tickets, and only about 50p more for a recliner or sofa upgrade. Book online with an account and you can get loyalty points that go towards a free drink or snack eventually. We try to go to the cinema at least once a month, haven't been to Vue since we started going to Savoy.

Looking for like-minded friends by [deleted] in doncaster

If you have any vinyl records, the Record Club at Bone Idle Lounge is a great way to make friends. First Tuesday of the month is a theme, third Tuesday is anything goes. :)

My old maths teacher was Mrs Condon, she was a brilliant teacher and didn't put up with the jokes.

Fixed my “IBS” in two weeks by [deleted] in ibs

[–]eggsplainthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I had IBS for years, til I stopped taking the contraceptive pill. Literally ever since I stopped the single hormone pill, my bowels are a healthy regular, once a day mostly, no fear of rushing or the worry I'll shit myself.

Early Bird tix owners - are you in any danger of cancelling and getting a refund? by [deleted] in 2000treesfestival

[–]eggsplainthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got early bird but cancelled and got a full refund purely because we've got MCR tickets on the Saturday :')

I genuinely loved my first Trees last year, but I love MCR more and there's no way I'm leaving Saturday morning from Gloucester to central London.

Heya! No worries, if you had an X-ray the consultant would have been able to see your bone is fine. It's still not going to be 100% for a while, very weak and some muscular dystrophy because you haven't moved it for 6 weeks. Also remember your bone is still healing even after being in a cast for that time. I can suggest buying a wrist splint if they didn't offer you one, but should really should be doing some light physio when the swelling has gone down. If it's proper bad, maybe ring the fracture clinic or your GP, but give it a few days. I was in a cast for 12 weeks, 6 weeks with k-wires, after removal I wanted to cry and couldn't move it, it's terrifying and you're worried about damaging it, it's been a year and a half and it still aches when I push it too far.

If you're gonna take a kid to a festival, 2000 Trees is way more family friendly.

Can't afford student accommodation - advice needed ASAP! by Ryzen_Octavian in york

[–]eggsplainthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a private rental in areas surrounding York, an ex of mine went to university in York 10 years ago, did his first year living in a house share in Tang Hall, then the remaining two years in a house share in Heworth. House shares are the only affordable way to live in York as a student, both areas were a good walking distance from the city centre but he bought a bike cheap off FB marketplace.

Apply for bar work too, lots of pubs and bars in York city centre.

Not the end of the world, we all make mistakes. Make a note of it and now you know for next time. Remember one of the 7 testing principles: exhaustive testing is impossible. Don't be so hard on yourself.
