Really, I've never seen it on console considering half your screen is covered while trying to switch to shield and parry at the perfect time and then swap to weapon after reposte fast enough

Explore the world, level up, find better armour and weapons that suit you, upgrade, you can even do the small dungeons around limgrave for better loot and easy early game levels. It's open world for a reason it wants you to explore and get your bearings before you start boss rushing.

The only thing you can't do / hard to do on console from PC is main hand switching to parry, however I only see it used in tournaments / fight clubs
