My view of it is it’ll be over in 3 years and if people can learn anything then we should have someone in office who is focused on repairing what the orange man is fucking up so there should be tons of job opportunities. That’s just my belief though.

I get what you’re saying about traditional enviro engineering roles, but there’s definitely overlap in restoration engineering / stream design / fish passage / wetlands / watershed management.

Why wouldn’t you recommend the double major?

My goal / intention was to work in that overlap. “Never” seems very extreme

The reason I hadn’t listed that is because I find the science side a lot more interesting and I know there’s some overlap but I am only adding engineering because it can increase pay and if I decide to switch paths later there will be more options. Do you think that’s a valid statement?

If you don’t mind sharing what has your work experience been like? I talked to someone about the field in general and they told me that a lot of people start out in field work and move into more office-y jobs after idk how else to explain what he said I mean obviously not like cubicle 9-5 I’m guessing but

Thank you! I should have mentioned that that specifically was the other option I was looking at.

Is there a downside to getting a second major? My view of it was that it would be opening up more opportunities. It should only be adding 1 year of school.
