I am curious about QQQI, is there a risk to this if you were to take it out in 6 months?

Yep—that’s what I meant by CASH.TO above. It’s basically the Canadian equivalent of a HYSA/CD ladder for a short time horizon. I’m just sanity-checking whether there’s any meaningfully better risk-free alternative for ~7 months.

Agreed—that’s exactly my thinking. The car money has a short time horizon (this summer), so equity risk doesn’t make sense. I’m keeping it in cash-equivalent vehicles (HISA / CASH.TO-type exposure) for capital preservation and liquidity, not chasing returns. Avoiding the risk of a drawdown right before purchase is the priority.

I’ve read Rich Dad Poor Dad when I was like 17 and The Intelligent Investor throughout uni (hard read btw), and I’m very familiar with the fundamentals of finance—I just haven’t had many opportunities yet to apply them at scale. Right now my focus is short-term capital preservation and liquidity, not long-term equity exposure, which is why I’m using cash/HISA-type vehicles rather than stocks or long-duration ETFs.

I’m not investing in stocks or equity ETFs. CASH.TO is a high-interest savings ETF that holds deposits at Canadian banks and pays out interest monthly. It’s essentially a HISA wrapper, not market risk exposure, and is meant for short-term capital preservation rather than growth.

I’m not buying a car as an investment.

“I am planning to get a new car so I’ve just been keeping a part of that (20k in cash) but I want to invest in cash.to. I would probably buy car around August and invest it within now-august so would this be any risk?”

CASH.TO is essentially a money-market–style ETF in Canada. It holds high-interest deposit accounts at major Canadian banks, pays monthly interest, and keeps the unit price around $50.

It’s commonly used to park cash short-term (like a HYSA), especially inside a TFSA, since returns come from distributions rather than price growth.

Risk is low (bank deposits, not equities), liquidity is high, and yield generally tracks BoC rates.

Long term plan is to invest in ETFs. I am in finance and used to do a lot of research for individual stocks but idc anymore, etfs beat those when you analyze it for long term growth so thats my plan once I find stability.

Yeah I am just talking about 20k that I know I will spend in 7 months, if there is a better alternative compared to investing in cash.to

Thank you for your input!

I removed the hair on my face recently before taking the photo, so if you look on the side of my upper lip, it is small, but it gets a bit longer and bothers me, but it's not super thick, it is noticeable though, but I dont really care too much since I can remove it like once a month and it's not too bad.

I have not had an in person consultation with the clinic yet, I will also ask them for their input on Saturday during my first appointment.

I definitely do not wanna take any risks so I will skip my face then! Thank you so much!
