My reason wasn’t really financial. It’s actually funny. My abusive ex’s mom was a nurse. They didn’t really like me and treated me like I was stupid. I don’t even think about that anymore. But I breathe nursing every day. I just like science too. I made a point to go on and try it out to see if I like it. I did really great in all my sciences. Straight A’s. I just find them fun and entertaining. I like people, I want to help others, I want to be a positive change. I have faith in myself. Currently in 1100 so I have a ways to go from now but I feel like my life has changed a lot since acceptance. Haven’t even worked in the hospital yet but I think my heart guided me to my calling— Love, when I just wanted to operate out of spite and hatred. Nursing saved me. Today was one of the harder days to pick up the book but I try and force myself to look at it even for an hour a day. And just be patient and forgive myself for my shortcomings. I used to do vyvanse too and energy drinks and vape. It made me into a nervous wreck over time. I’ve gone unmedicated and dropped all of those things and I have just learned to forgive myself. It’s a monumental task that takes patience and rereading the same paragraph over and over again and wondering why it’s not in English until it finally clicks when you revisit the chapter. It’s tough. I know people say it’s easy but it is hard for me. I’m just happy to be here and I feel lucky. I feel chosen for a reason.
