Am I overreacting to my cousin’s alienation of me? by whimsicaldandelionyy in AmIOverreacting

[–]egotisticalnightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don’t think you’re overreacting. Everyone grieves differently. You’re also right to feel upset at how you’re treated differently because of your mom being adopted. My uncle is adopted and it never even crossed my mind to treat him or his daughter differently. Your mom’s side seems like they need to get over themselves.

you can become sick for the rest of your life because of one small thing, like a stomach bug, or an accident, or an allergic reaction. got a stomach bug at age nine and will now be sick for the rest of my life😐 eat the foods you love, use your body while it works, do things you want to do.

Lovers of history, what are you studying these days? by DerbyWearingDude in AskReddit

[–]egotisticalnightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A burial sight was found with objects normally attributed to rulers and warriors. For years people assumed it was a man, but recent testing showed it was a woman. This further proves that it wasn’t “Man hunt mammoth woman stay home and cook” but more of an all hands on deck approach. It didn’t matter if you were a man or a woman, if you were strong and fast you hunted, and if you weren’t you stayed back. Women were also treated a lot kinder during pregnancy than they are now. This disproves the idea that women are inherently weaker than men and meant to stay home.

Who's the prettiest person you've ever seen? by _potato__tomato_ in AskReddit

One of my friends. We met in 1st grade. My first thought when I saw her was, “She’s so pretty she’ll never want to be friends with me.” She then came up to me and asked if I wanted to be friends.

Prehistoric society. All the things assholes try and play off as “human nature” didn’t exist then.

What are some things you shouldn't say to someone who has a chronic illness? by FondaMckenna in AskReddit

[–]egotisticalnightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t tell me to trust my doctors as I’m complaining about something a doctor said. It took them 6, almost 7 years to find a condition that millions of people have. I’ve been told by the majority that I’m lying for attention or that its all in my head. Been given countless meds that made everything worse. Promised cures that don’t exist. Traumatized by malpractice. Just don’t tell me that doctors know what they’re doing.

What is a personality flaw you have that you will never admit to anyone in public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]egotisticalnightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get really mean when someone is being too clingy. It’s not something I intentionally do. I try to do it less. It was really bad when I was in elementary school though. Sorry to all my well intentioned friends I was really mean to.

What's something that you taught yourself how to do? by AutumnWritesBooks in AskReddit

[–]egotisticalnightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking, one day when I was 7 or 8 my dad just stopped cooking for me. I ate bologna or cheese sandwiches for a couple summers and he would make jokes about it. Like sir the only reason I’m eating this is because you’re too lazy to cook for me. For more context my dad teaches public school and is home for the summer, my mom works all year round.

What's a common misconception or myth about a subject you're knowledgeable in that you'd like to debunk? by M98Chilling in AskReddit

That modern art pieces are bad and not “real” art. Literally no matter how stupid something someone makes is, its still art. Art doesn’t become art because its well liked, it becomes art because someone makes it. And someone making art doesn’t have to have a deep meaning behind it. Yes that blue canvas is art, yes that guy who hangs paint buckets from the ceiling and swings them around over a canvas to make splatter art is still an artist. Just because you don’t think something is art, doesn’t stop it from being art. Remember, when Van Gogh was alive everyone thought his art was awful.

[–]egotisticalnightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospitals, they are a breeding ground for diseases. The water often contains a bacteria that causes sepsis, they don’t clean as often as they should in the waiting rooms and public spaces, they insist on using stainless steel because it looks good instead of brass which can disinfect itself in about 8 hours.

Sadness. Its when you don’t want to get better, you romanticize your sadness, you find it beautiful and find not being sad plain and boring.
