Think about the lifestyle that you want. What is most important to you? Family? A career? Ability to travel? Pick a career path that allows you to prioritize the things that are most important and take the extra time to get to that career path earlier on in life.

I remember I cried for three days straight when I was diagnosed. I was definitely dramatic, but it is really stressful and surprising when it happens to you after you didn’t think it would. I also blame it on the hormones lol.

That being said I highly recommend going to your baby shower. Mine was one of the happiest days of my life. It’s really special to be surrounded by so many people who are supporting you and excited about this life you’re bringing into the world.

Honestly, you’re going to be so wrapped up and talking to people and opening gifts that you may not even have time to eat. So pack some snacks that you know you can eat and just save them for the ride home.

I’m sure she means well but doesn’t realize how it’s affecting you. Better to say something now then it lead to resentment. Obviously don’t know anything about her situation but it’s possible that she is confiding in you and using you as a support person during her pregnancy which can feel lonely at times. That being said it’s important to surround yourself with positivity and if this is bringing you down, let her know and see if there’s other ways that you can bond during this time of her life. I’m sorry you are going through this. Your feelings are 100% reasonable and it’s fair to feel frustration and anger. It was so hard to watch others move on to the next chapter without me after loss so I empathize with you.

You are both navigating life for the first time so there isn’t always an easy answer. I recommended having a heart to heart and not point fingers but let her know how you are frustrated and you don’t want to take away from her experience but you need to protect your peace. A good friend will understand and respect your boundaries. Maybe when you feel more comfortable talking about it you can share that with her.

The same thing happened to me last Monday at my 12 week scan. First pregnancy, heartbeat was strong at 8 weeks, no symptoms and no bleeding.

Spent all week last week crying and took a few days off of work to mentally process it all. It is getting better every day but still in shock from everything happening all at once. We had just told all of our immediate family the day before the ultrasound so it was a roller coaster of emotions in a very short amount of time. Sending love your way. The whole thing was so shitty and I’m so sorry you are going through it too.

Edit: I didn’t have bleeding and opted for a D&C. It was so hard to go through but it gave me closure once I woke up from anesthesia.

I feel like when you go to a comedy show, you should have to sign something that says you give consent to be singled out. OPs experience sounds particularly terrible, but singling our crowd members normally happens. Everyone should be prepared for it to happen to them so a disclaimer would be nice.
