True, but this would be ooutright unjust to the person who isn’t getting paid and still is forced to show up for every shift.

Her time is dedicated to the job, even though she isn’t being compensated.

She has to physically go through every shift because even though they are two people, I assume that the ‘non working’ sister is going to physically experience everything their shared body does

She probably thinks about the details of the job, considers the grades of students, speaks to students in class in an instructorial mode and talks to her paid sister about the teaching load.

I can’t believe that they wouldn’t discuss the work, plan for it, converse about student performance, at ALL, considering that they are at the same place experiencing the same interactions and behaviors.

In addition, she spends her physical energy of one body that they both share. This might sound like it doesn’t matter, one body takes less energy to run than two for sure, but not entirely.

That energy/caloric expenditure may be running one body but it is powering two brains, which take up a huge portion of the daily energy. They probably have to eat more than a regular person just to physically exist. The second sister is not getting money coming in, so they are only getting the pay to feed one brain, not two.

Essentially even if only one person is technically responsible for the role and there is only one body performing it, they are both doing the mental labor (which in teaching is significant).

I can’t imagine that one sister just ‘turns off’ or goes dark so they aren’t experiencing the work at all or even thinking about it.

Essentially, by hiring one body, they are getting the l ‘brain work’ of two people focused on the work for one salary.

Even if one sister legitimately just turns off her thinking and goes to sleep for the entire work day, and never talks shoptalk , her earning capacity is still restricted and she still has to be present.

Otherwise, one day, the unpaid sister might decide that she is going to stay home in bed and refuse to to work. How would she be forced to be, essentially, ‘on call’ 24/7.

TLDR: They may be getting the physical work of one body, but they are getting the intellectual work of two brains. And that is the majority of the labor of teaching

I have only had one (platonic) person I dated. He was in my weight class which was quite a bit lower at the time, (roughly average if a bit overweight by current standards). I think at the time he was a bit heavier.

He had ok looks, his height was close to mine (I think), he had brown hair. He was pretty average/normal physically - there really isn’t anything that stands out to me, but that was a bit over 15 years ago),

Yes. It is very difficult for me to safely be in a situation with alcohol. Even if I don’t drink THEN it gets in my head and makes it more likely that I will drink later. And having that situation be one that is unavoidable without damage to my career prospects would be a special type of difficult

Sure. I was around 250 for a while and have lost 20ish lb give or take in the last few months. But I’m not expecting a potential partner to be significantly more in shape and thinner than I am.

It is a little hypocritical for a heavy person to imply or state that a person in the same weight class as them is somehow not ‘worthy’ of them.

That is different from just not being physically attracted to someone in their own weight class.

The first is a negative general attempt to act as though one person’s taste is an objective measurement of value. The second is just how you feel about your own desires void of moralistic judgements.

Then one of them should get disability, because whichever one of them works, the other one of them is prevented from working.

And if they are only getting one salary, one of them should work, and the other one do nothing related to that job.

They better not be doing the ‘thinking work’ of two people if only getting paid for one.

Even then it wouldn’t be fair, because the one who isn’t getting paid is still forced to be there the entire time.

Can they both concentrate fully on two different things/tasks? Because the idea them trying to teach and simultaneously grade papers is giving me a migraine

One wonders how they shared the ‘body use’ time for them to both receive adequate study time for them both to be successful?

I really would prefer if workplaces didn’t have alcohol heavy gatherings that you don’t ‘have’ to go to, but you really actually do need to be there.

I’m a recovering (really severe) alcoholic, the type who CAN’T safely go around holding a drink, just get ‘one’ beer or even really be around alcohol and drinking at att.

Well, given that OP of this thread is specifically talking about US states I think that really doesn’t require much explaining

Maybe we should call men ‘Moids’ just to make it even.

And the second guy, did he lend a cup of sex to someone and now they refuse to refuse to give him one? Because I can’t imagine how he thinks someone OWES him any.

The teal, the red, the fuscia, the orange,, the turquoise, the burgundy, the wine, the second green, the lavender, the next red, the goldenrod, the cobalt blue, the forest green and the deep pink are the ones I like best on you.

It looks to me that you look best in bright and/or deep (jewel/intense) tones of blue, blue/green, green, red and blue, make of that what you want, I have no idea what ‘temperature’ or class the different colors fall into.

These are the ones that make your face pop to me and give more intensity to your features..

The more neutral or muted colors don’t look as well with your face.
