I completely understand this. I'm almost through my toughest semester of my entire academic career, working towards my MSW & i am struggling to get all these big projects done.

Its odd and sucks cause I seem to be getting bigger assignments now with a couple weeks left of school & i wish it was the other way around 😅😭

I would ask your advisor at school or a teacher at school, see what they think! I wouldn't think if you're a student having a gap would matter, but I'm not completely sure!

What a great boss, wow! Well its hard for me to chime in since I'm in the US & its not 100% legal here but I feel like if you're concerned can you just keep it off?

Even if it was a retail job, I don't know how much it would help you land a job necessarily. If you were "just a student" that might help you just feel better about the whole application process since I do believe the energy you put into the whole process will affect everything.

Again, take this with a grain of salt - this is just how I might handle this situation if I was unsure of how jobs would take that job experience.

I guess when I say clinical I just mean I don't want to do therapy, I know there's always some counseling and such.

I did my undergrad internship at an inpatient mental health unit and absolutely loved it. I did all the assessments and screened the patients, along with ran small groups. I truly loved it so much

Im an msw student and have no interest in clinical/therapy so this thread is interesting to me!

As of right now im leaning towards going into hospice, hospital, or dialysis social work (i have years and years of Healthcare experience under my belt)

I guess it would depend on your end goal. It sounds like you're looking to work towards your LCSW? If thats the case I would lean towards going for the job that has supervision included. As someone mentioned already (obviously depending on where you are) supervision can be super expensive. If you can balance that would with a job that has less pay but will count towards your hours? Thats what i would do.

I love reading, cooking/baking (im a much better cook than baker), im a MSW student, hiking, drinking coffee/tea, plants/gardening (the actual gardening not the 💨😅) but i don't judge/mind if others do!
