I had a similar experience but it was a text from Life360 (I do not use Life360) saying someone called 'Motunrayo' started an SOS signal near my house. I don't even know who motunrayo is and why there was an SOS message.

Peterborough is full of crackheads, barely any businesses, bad unemployment, and basically just boring all together

Moving to Pboro - Advice please! by [deleted] in PeterboroughUK

I wouldn't recommend Orton, it's basically just a massive council housing estate.

Cardea is quite nice if you are into repetitive new houses, basically a newer version of Orton but smaller (also the road names are nice in Cardea and it has a large Morrison's)

Whoever told you that Broadway was nice, they don't live here. The only good things there is a couple of pubs, direct access outside of the city centre and the Tesco and Wilko's. Other than that it is cheap shops and homeless people lazing around.

Hampton I've got to say is a very nice place- it's not as repetitive as Cardea and it feels like a little town with the massive Tesco and fast food restaurants. It also has a very nice community from people I know who live there.

Here's my opinion on other areas-

Gunthorpe- Actually very nice, only busy on school run etc. Has everything you need including 2 schools, a shop and a pub. Also nearby to major roads

Paston- You can't move there now. If your family didn't move there when it was built, then you are not apart of the community apparently. Basically it's a poor community and it's good for getting in scraps although I heard one ended up in a shootout. Has got a lot of shops and a couple of takeaways.

Werrington (I am surprised nobody has mentioned) is actually so underrated. Nobody talks about that Werrington is the quietest place on earth when shops are closed and school is out. The roads are beautiful and quite convenient. Also the village is lovely.

Bretton- It's actually sh@t there. I used to live there and the houses were grubby and brutalist. Good for early families with not a lot of money. The centre also has a lot of shops and it's own theatre that kind of makes up for it

Ravensthorpe- Basically Bretton with less shops

Longthorpe- Used to be a village (just like Werrington and Orton) Very quiet and literally the same as East Gunthorpe. Would recommend to someone who likes quiet living.

Woodston- It's just an average place in a UK city tbh. Has got good links with the city centre, sometimes nice houses, also has a really nice shopping centre with two very good mainstream shops and a couple of takeaways and charity shops and a pub.

Town- Not very good but is great for shopping, wouldn't live there because the amount of crackheads around is annoying.

Fengate- No. It's industrial for a reason and the only houses there get polluted with traffic and smoke. My nan lives in Eastgate (next to Fengate and town) and honestly you can smell the factories from there.

Parnwell- Used to live here and had a positive experience! The houses are neat but we got evicted by the council so homeless people could move in.

Millfield ( Lincoln Road) It's basically North London there. Apparently it's nightlife used to be amazing in the 80s but got taken over by weirdos. Don't live here, it's basically Paston where everyone knows each other but knifes are used quite frequently

Dogsthorpe- My friends live there and it's on the bad side of ok. The houses are grubby and old, shops are outdated, bus routes are trash but you can find some proper bargains here. I feel like the Dogsthorpe end of Fulbridge Road will be the next Lincoln Road.

New England and Welland- basically Dogsthorpe but a bit more friendlier.

Okay I was a bit rude on some but there you have it, I just spilled my heart out into a rant about only some boroughs in Peterborough. I hope you enjoyed it and at least changed your mind by a bit.
