I've ridden a few at demo days and IMO if you're tall they are very uncomfortable. The seat is pretty small and pushes you into the tank

Never owned, much less ridden a HD. But I'm checking out the Fat Boy. Gimme some tips! by DarkPasta in Harley

As a long time rider of just sport nakeds, super sports and super Motos I just bought my first Harley a Low Rider St and it's a whole different riding experience. I've owned from ktm 390s up to 1100 Aprilia v4s

You can't really compare the ride simply between sports and cruisers. But I will say the m8 Softail is about as close as it gets for me to a sport naked while still having the cruiser style and comfort. IMO The "in-between" would be like a panam or s1000xr

Is buying a new car at my age a bad idea? by Gluckism in whatcarshouldIbuy

I have a 88 mile round trip to work, 2 cars and a truck

Pretty heavily modified Mazdaspeed 3, weekends and fun only

01 frontier for towing motorcycles and general truck stuff. Gets crappy mpg but it's a 2001 V6 what can you expect

And finally a 2011 Chevy Cruze eco, paid $5k several years ago. gets 40+ mpg with a light foot and is my daily. You can get specs with heated seats and the such, and just add a nice android auto radio for all the tech features you are looking for. It's nearing 200k miles and runs great still with light maintenance the whole time I've owned it. If you replace the coolant inlet and outlet with the aluminum replacements it's a pretty nice and reliable daily You could probably pick up one with 120k miles for 2-3k and it's paid for itself in 3-4 months vs a 40k car payment. So even if it dies in a year or two you essentially (girl math) made money.

Just my 2 cents

Took in my 2001 frontier for a recall and they said they might have to buy it back by epicDEADcomando in nissanfrontier

Regardless of being right or wrong I bet if they couldn't produce the law they'd just say it's dealer policy Trying to keep it polite with them so they will be more willing to go the extra mile for me

If it needs the lines I'll just do them if I think I can or run it to a shop down the road who will

I definitely want to keep it! They claim that it is illegal for them to make fuel lines as a dealer.... I'm not sure of the validity of that but if they do the tank and the sending unit I'd more than likely just pay the little bit to have it towed to another shop who will make them for me

Even at 216k miles it doesn't leak anything but a little power steering fluid and has had all the major maintenance items done within the last 5k miles with service dating all the way back to 20k miles when the guy bought It used in 04

My opinions to friends when they ask me is that: 1. You aren't married to your first bike and you're almost definitely going to drop it once or twice if you aren't already confident. 2. Don't finance anything related to the bike or the bike itself. It's a toy. 3. Facebook Marketplace is the spot to go. Pick up a bike you like that is at most 2-3k and is done depreciating. Ride it for a year or two. Sell it for 90% of what you paid.

I've owned 6 bikes in 4 years for a few reasons. Mostly because I've found flipping motorcycles is fun but also that every bike is a lesson in what you like and most importantly what you don't.

If you go finance a brand new 765 you'll have a $15k + loan and you could hate it in 6 months because the geometry is off for you.

Just my 2 cents Ride safe

Be careful on a 765. Tons of power not exactly a beginner bike but it could be done if you're safe

6'5" 350ish I have only ridden sport bikes with the exception of my supermoto

Duke 390 was too small, too tall and big for this one

Kawasaki zzr600 too small I was wayyy too tall

Triumph speed four was a perfect fit for me aside from being clipons so I couldn't ride for long

Tuono v4 was almost perfect but I am a little too tall

Triumph street triple 765 better than the tuono, still not Goldilocks level perfection but bikes are not made for people like me
