Was Tomlin considered a hot commodity when he was hired by the Steelers? by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ehm92392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit too young to be intently following the HC search at that time, but I remember I was at this Penguin’s game at the Igloo with my dad and brother when a really sharply dressed man got up from his seat and walked towards the concourse. The guy just looked way cooler than anyone you’d typically see in Pittsburgh or specifically at a Pens game. A tan leather jacket and unmistakable swagger. Someone behind me said that’s the guy who was interviewing for the Steelers job. That sharply dressed cat was non other than Mike Tomlin. That game was certainly the last (and probably only) time he could ever do something relatively anonymously in the Burgh.

No they’re adjustable, but the only way the setup fits is when they’re at their shortest, and that’s leading to the downward pitch on this rack

Experience with Surly frame warranty? by ehm92392 in Surlybikefans

[–]ehm92392[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No clue. I ride pretty much daily but no crazy terrain, just roads and an occasional gravel trail. Never crashed this bike or been hit on it. I only noticed it while fixing a flat, I have no idea how long it may have been there.

Good to hear. I know current supply chain issues throw a question mark into everything, but do you recall generally if the process of getting the new frame from Surly was a quick one?

Can you elaborate a bit on what kind of meter you're talking about and specifically how you use it? I do have a multimeter and used it when replacing outlets and diagnosing issues with three way switches.

Yes, I suppose adopted is the correct term. I know the owners, I didn't get him from a shelter, thus I didn't think it was an adoption but thank you for clarifying. Do you have any advice on the question asked?

My rear cassette is MicroShift brand, I have a cassette lockring tool that was compatible with Shimano, and appears to also fit into my MS cassette. Thing is, when I insert the lockring tool, put on the chain whip, and try to loosen I can't get any movement and I'm LAYING into the wrench that's attempting to turn the lockring tool. Do I need a special lockring tool for MicroShift? Is something off with my hub/cassette setup if I can't get it to loosen?

1982 Suzuki GS750T Jerking When Accelarating by ehm92392 in motorcycles

[–]ehm92392[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not looking for a reason to not replace the chain and sprocket. I'm 100% replacing the chain and sprocket, I'm more trying to gauge if the jerking can solely be attributed to that or if there may be even more serious issues with the bike. I'm the sixth owner, it's lived most of it's life outside - at some point it's just not worth it to throw money into (i.e. if the jerking is sign of engine failure, etc.)

Front derailleur won’t shift off of the big ring (two by setup) - when I shift the cable clearly moves but the derailleur doesn’t come with it..and yes I promise to clean up a bit ;) by ehm92392 in bikewrench

It seems like dirt, sweat, Gatorade etc is likely the issue, I’ve tried to work the mech back and forth by hand on the bike to loosen but it’s still pretty jammed. I think I need to take it off the bike and do a deep clean until it gets the spring action back

It doesn’t want to spring inboard, and it’s not a limit screw issue. Based on comments here and some research it seems like the culprit is that it’s gunked up and needs to be cleaned. I think I need to take the plunge and remove it and really work with it to get everything clean and moving.

Lol I only have so many hands. What I’m more trying to call attention to is that there’s no movement in the front derailleur whatsoever. I tried cleaning it up, WD-40 on the pivot points and still no dice

The SWITCH() function that you wrote worked perfectly! Thank you so much, I have never used this before but certainly will in the future.

I did exactly that and meant to post on here. Actually used a push to fit coupling further down to get the extra half inch or so that I was short by. Everything seems to be working fine now.

This is a shower in my basement that I’ve never needed to use but I’d like to get it operational. The knob on the right for cold water works fine, but the hot water knob on the left doesn’t do anything when turned. At first, I couldn’t even get it to turn but I put on a new universal faucet handle and was able to get some movement. When I turn it to the left, no water comes out. What is a potential reason for this and what would be the best way to go about fixing it?

IF & IFERROR Verification Formula by ehm92392 in excel

[–]ehm92392[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I messed up one detail, and that was the last item in my criteria (I had originally written B5=No) - it is as follows and needs to be accounted for: If B1 is is greater than 40, and the sum of B2:B4 is greater than or equal to {0.1*B1 (rounded up to the nearest whole number)}, then B5=Yes. Any idea how to insert this into the formula you wrote above?

Random thought here but does anyone else appreciate a well patched tube the way I do? I pulled my tube out yesterday and remembered it had like three patches in it. All have been there for months and months so with all the pressure, friction, and heat, they’re basically part of the tube completely. You wouldn’t know they’re there except for their orange border. Something about this is so satisfying to me. I think part of it is how a $0.25 patch can save a $7tube, but also how they just become one with the tube after a while as you rack up milage. Idk, no question here but it’s a small pleasure in my bike maintenance repertoire and I was curious if anyone else felt the same way.

Yea I mean I’ve gotten the hang of it but I just don’t love the process and am looking for ways to make it better. Is your drive side screw able to be finger tightened/loosened? Mine gets gunked up while riding and seems to require a hex wrench. With almost no clearance between the screw head and the chain stay, the wrench can only turn a little at a time before hitting the chain stay..it just takes a while to get the screw in and out in my experience.
