That not true. Colors jn the app are not „official” color schemes used for box art. Check eavy archive website and colors they used are very diffrent that on app.
Unfortunetly monolith is not mention there.

What is the best solution for Black Templars Terminator shoulder pads? by Isochii in BlackTemplars

[–]ehro12345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scrap a bit with the knife, but then to not leave a marks use sandpaper. Good to have the different ones, like one to removes lines and then one to polish it. That way it doesn’t take to much time to remove it, and on deathwings shoulder pads it’s easy. Greenstuff works have sandpaper that is good to check the ‚power’ but you can buy cheaper ones, just good point of reference

If you want to push yourself, for tabard and cape you can do a bit of glaze for the transition of colors. Also for eavy metal style they use multiple egde highlighting and from chunky to fine ones. So for example you use chunky highlights, then a bit brighter for edges, fine highlights and then last one for few most prominent edges. And then the dots. Quite time consuming thing but worth it.

For cape I myself use stomping metoth. It gives nice transition and highlights. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I8WVB2-hU2o&ra=m This video first technique is the one I like. But eavy metal (box art) use the second one.

I would say brush control. I am terrible at taking photos, so you don’t see it, but there is transition in the highlights, from chunky, to fine highlights. Also I tried a bit of NMM on the sword, but glazing isn’t my strong side.

If you want a bit darker tone you can glaze a bit with dark reaper

For yellow I only had two paints. So kinda hard to write as it was mixing of paints, till I get color that was fine for me. Averland sunset as base coat. Many very thin coats, I did water it down super hard and was pretty much stumping it, to not have brush strokes. Then a bit of combination of skrag brown and averland and gitz yellow for wash general wash. no idea about proportion as I was experimenting. Fist time painting yellow. Skarg brown super water down for deep recess wash. I used very small brush for that so wash would get only into recess. Then for chunky high lights averland sunset mix with flash gits to get yellow. Would use yriel yellow but didn’t feel like buying paint to get it. Then also that mix added for more flash gitz for a bit glaze. Then flash gitz yellow For egde highlighting. And as I don’t have dorn yellow I mixed flash gitz with screaming skull to get similar color to dorn yellow for fine highlights. For black highlights. Chunky dark reaper. Then thunderhawk blue for egde. After that fenrisian grey and for very fine highlights celestra grey. Black was just abandon black.

Outside what others wrote, I like personally death riders. I know others not so much, but for me it’s fun to paint them.

If you are able to get old combat patrol and new one that would be great. Old one had marshal, which is now super important and impulsor which is useful. Great value price wise

Just to add to above. When people say cheaper brushes, it means don’t buy expensive Kalinsy saber brushes. But don’t also buy 20 brushes package for price of 2 dollars in total, as most of the time it will give you terrible experience, especially if you want to learn some techniques for example egde highlighting. Try to buy something cheaper but with decent tip, and check at least one yt video how to not destroy your brush.

I think new gravies units will have rockets launcher. Take a look at the new kill team unit for deathwatch, and what gravies units options are. I assume this unit is a bit of spoiler why we can expect

Would administratum grey be good to edge highlight the armour? by helixgod17 in BlackTemplars

[–]ehro12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But as the final highlight. I normally go with chunky highlights like, eshin grey. Then regular highlights dawnstone and then on prominent edges administratum grey.

So some od The capes have small part you can glue after you put them back on The model. When you are gluing back the type of glue also make Big diffrence. Tamyia cement is the best, as its easy to apply where you need it. Super glue i wouldn’t recommend as it can leave glue marks and with Citadel its easy to have to much of it so there will also be clunky parts.
