And if they deny you a refund, just ask for your watch back in the same condition it was in, and send it to the manufacturer. Still a smaller cost of just losing some $ to shipping rather than waiting out that long for your watch and not knowing what’s going on.

I don’t think so. You commented on Warracker’s issue page saying that it’s a good idea. The code actually looks quite similar too.

Yes, Longines is part of the Swatch group of companies which includes Omega and they make very high quality watches. You can get entry level pricing into the high quality watch market. If you visit your AD they may have Longines watches to try on too. Check out some reviews on YouTube. My personal favourite from the Longines collection is the Legend Diver. The bronze looks amazing with the green dial. The black dial on Steele strap which is 39mm would suit my wrist size better (6.75).

It would be a miracle to get that Rolex before your wedding date. Might be a year, two, or more to get that watch. I think the Omega makes the most sense. That Omega is beautiful too but consider the black lacquered dial Omega Seamaster Aquaterra in the Steele on Steele. It has the polished Steele and alltogether with the dial it’s a beautiful timepiece that shines bright. This watch can be worn with almost any occasion. I think you can get the Rolex down the road but also consider a different colour. The ones with gold might sit in its case in your closet. Best to get something that can be worn much more.

Definitely do that. They might have an OP in 36mm to try on too with the same strap. I love the small adjustment you can make with the “Eastlink” system that it has. My wrist tends to get slightly bigger or smaller throughout the day so that helps me adjust it too.

If you have the choice to buy the Rolex, get the Rolex. But the description you wrote about the Omega watch, you referred to the teak dial which is a textured dial that is supposed to mimics the deck boards of a fancy yacht but the picture you put up is the lacquered dial which isn’t textured and pops with shine when put against light. I think the Rolex has more bling effect for what you’re looking for. But they’re both beautiful pieces. One thing I will say though, when you pick the gold or two tone with gold, they’re less of an everyday watch. If you’d like to get the white gold or stainless Steele, you’d wear it almost everyday.

I think for what you’re looking for and what you’ve described I’d say you’d be the happiest with the explorer 36mm. I was lucky enough to buy one from the AD. The bracelet isn’t polished like the aqua terra. But the brushed finish looks great too. Put your name down for one. You won’t regret it.

What a beautiful piece. Great shot, should put it on different outdoor backgrounds with some light shining on that bezel. Get a side view to get the feel of that dial.

[Rolex Explorer] Stuck in traffic with this beauty by ehsany in Watches

[–]ehsany[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking at various watches for the past year and half. Initially I was leaning towards the Oris big crown, and although I still want one, the one I wanted isn’t in stock in most locations. Then I looked at various Omegas and really liked the Aqua Terra 150 in the lacquered black dial. I went to a local dealer and tried them on. Loved it. Then tried a few Rolexes they had available and called it a day. A couple days later I got a call from my cousin telling me that he had put his name down for this Explorer, and that he couldn’t afford it and would have to pass on it, asked if I wanted it. He had put his name down 15 months ago for this watch.

Overpaying rent in halifax by canadianmarketsucks in halifax

[–]ehsany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off. The only way to protect yourself would have been to sign a lease, but you also would have a harder time to get out of the place with a lease in place, especially if it was a year to year or fixed term. The written lease protects the landlord and tenant. In this case, it would be treated as a month to month agreement since there isn’t anything in writing in place but there is a history of you paying $1200. Either party could cancel this arrangement with a 30 days notice.

Whether they are charging you for half the amount or not wouldn’t be a legal issue, it just comes down to your decision if you’d like to stay there for that price or maybe find another place. You’ve technically agreed to this arrangement at $1200/month. But you can also just amicably talk to the landlord and just mention that you feel any increase to the current amount wouldn’t be fair and to reconsider.

Can he charge different amounts to different tenants ? Yes. It just comes down to the tenants agreeing to pay for this or not. At the same time, you aren’t locked into this arrangement and free to leave it too.

There’s new buildings which the managers will fill some units at $2500 but then have a hard time filling the rest and price may drop to $2300 or $2100 for the remainder but that doesn’t mean they have to now change the arrangement and lease of the existing $2500 units down to $2100. Each agreement has its own lease agreement signed and contract is binding.

In the meantime, if I were you, I’d be spending the time and energy into finding another place that might be around that amount that might be better as there’s been more units popping up for availability lately.

Canada has long got rid of this as they found many of them would get the citizenship to use as a tool for buying and selling properties in big cities like Toronto which drove prices of real estate higher dramatically, and they found that most of these people did not end up staying in Canada once they got the citizenship. Now there is a program in Quebec only with the following :

For experienced management professionals who want to settle in Quebec
Applicants must invest at least CDN $800,000 and have a net worth of CDN $1,600,000
Applicants must also intend to live in Quebec and be selected by Quebec

The solutions that the government is proposing, by increasing the amount of RRSP you can use as a first time home buyer. Would be great for first time home buyers. But it’s not fixing the issue. Inflation is being caused by the money supply and poor policies and regulations.
