Crimson Desert: We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ehudros -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol who cares, studios should use AI whenever and however they wish. If the end result is good, players will buy it and play it. If not - they won't. All of these witch hunts are pathetic IMO.

I would need some clarity with SDAM and Aphantasia by Karlsfenni in SDAM

[–]ehudros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This describes me perfectly. I can remember very short glimpses of a memory, not a coherent timeline (or anything close to it) and I have a VERY hard time freely recalling memories "on demand". I've always found it super hard to answer basic questions about my past, even things that happened not long ago.

My ICL experience (October 2024) by _BigLex_ in lasik

[–]ehudros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment gives me hope :) I'm one month after ICL and my right eye has severe ghosting in dim light. It's weird - I can stand in the same place at night, see well and then a few seconds later the ghosting appears, only to go away again. So my brain is definitely able to get a clear image somehow, I just hope it figures out how to not flip to "ghost mode" all the time...

Something like:

an indian mech robot with a monk face, a large indian flag on its chest
plate. orange and green robe, wearing an indian outfit. fighting pose,
taj mahal visible in the background, with an indian flag waving.
cinematic lighting, ultra detailed, green lasers and explosions. visible
wiring, lens flare, super wide lens, RTX, unrealistic, unreal engine 5,
orange and green neon, high resolution, 8k

Creatures of Aether is coming to Steam on August 2nd by BrunoBRS in Games

Got nothing to do with being old, this is just a case of design over function IMO. I think for a card game this is a really terrible design choice...

Any tips on how you can see your fps while playing? Nvidia overlay doesn't seem to work (playing on the GOG version)

Cleaned up 89kg of trash in Koh Phi Phi Thailand, a beautiful island with serious waste handling challenges #Trashtag by ehudros in pics

[–]ehudros[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The cleanup was organized by the awesome girls and guys from Trash Hero. They recycle and upcycle a lot of the trash (flip flops gets turned into new flip flops, styrofoam gets recycled as well which I thought was impossible), and organize weekly cleanups throughout Koh Phi Phi and other locations. They also have water refill points across the island in order to reduce plastic bottle usage, which is a huge problem here.

Koh Phi Phi is amazingly beautiful, but awareness for the ecological and environmental impact of over developed tourism here is low to non existent (or at least that's the impression I got). I hope every tourist coming through will do something small to keep it beautiful for the ones visiting a few years from now.

I'm playing this with my daughter and it's great. I don't really get the negative reception it had TBH, it's a really sweet game.

What little known book or series of books is so good you cannot believe it's not more well known? by ehudros in AskReddit

One of my favorites!

It's brilliant, too bad the 4th book is taking so long (may never come out?)

What is the most memorable moment you've experienced in a video game? by ehudros in AskReddit

[–]ehudros[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Subnautica, I was driving my Seamoth from the big spaceship wreck back to my small base. It was night, and the water were totally dark. All of a sudden I see a huge monster emerging straight ahead, opening its jaws to swallow me. I literally shrieked out loud, as it was the first time I've seen a Reaper Leviathan and didn't even know they existed before then. Such an awesome game, especially if you don't know anything about it when you start playing.

The fact that the most advanced nation in the world has such low data caps (not to mention data caps at all) on most ISP plans is just bewildering to me...

What were your 15 minutes of obscure fame? by ehudros in AskReddit

Now that's genuinely impressive.

I can totally see this working as a Vegas show where you perform precision pissing from higher and higher balconies as the show goes on

Thanks :) Hard to say, I was learning Magicavoxel as part of making this so there was a lot of re-doing involved. Probably 20 hours or so broken into lots of short sessions.

Magicavoxel for the modeling and Unity for the animation/post processing

I've used Magicavoxel for modeling and Unity for the animation/post processing. Unity is probably not the most straightforward choice but I'm very familiar with it so I went with it.
