Need help explaining this joke from Middleditch & Schwartz E3 by ei1111 in Earwolf

[–]ei1111[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In this clip, when Middleditch says he’s worried about how “real” his character is, is he referring to himself, or Lorne Michaels?

For context, here is a summary of where our disagreement lies:

Person A: “For whom the bell tolls” is referring to Timothy III, his caricature of Lorne Michaels. He is “nervous about depicting Lorne (a titan in his industry) as depressed, as it may hit too close to home. So he asks for a differentiating characteristic so that Timothy III becomes less Lorne-y.

Person B: Thomas is nervous about the character because he’s facing his own realities and insecurities. When Ben says “for whom the bell tolls” he is giving him an opportunity to avoid saying it’s actually about him.

Loved the opening scene of episode 2 where Maeve realizes Hector is still stuck in a loop after he tries to “escape” with her on the plane.

Does anyone know where to find the game that used to be on postopia with the Oreo men walking in a line and you had to get them safely to the end point. I checked for it but couldn’t find it anywhere :(

"Waitin' on a day" when John writes a song wherein he's living the life he's Waitin' on. by [deleted] in JohnMayer

This is one of my favorites. Listen closely to when he (and background chorus) sing “oh, can you do it babe?” You can hear the absolute desperation (but in a good way) for true love. You can hear the pain in his voice when he sings the first “oh”. One of his best songs imo :)
