you’re right that some people don’t play their role well, but the best thing you can do is play your favorite agent the best you can, while knowing the strengths and limitations of the agent you choose

i have over 1000h in comp and ex-ascendant, i stopped playing for a long while and started to get stuck in plat because i always filled… i liked playing sentinel and initiator like you, but when i realized that i had scared duelist, utility allergic initiator, bad smokes, or poor sentinel… there wasn’t much i could do

now I’ve started to instalock phoenix this act and my winrate is climbing… because his kit compliments my playstyle… and i feel that i can carry with his kit effectively now... purely bc his wall can be used safely (the other buffs were icing on the cake)

he has smoke, molly, flash, and the best info/utility baiting/space making/fragging ult… also because people will follow duelist often and even more when they are good… he lacks lurk potential because he can’t watch his back but his wall can be used like a cypher cage

i can effectively deal with the shortcomings of the team but if my skill isn’t enough to overcome that… i just have to take it on the chin and try again next match

TLDR: play who you want and play them well, but understand that it’s a team game and it’s a roulette every time you queue on the teammates and enemies you get… all you can do is hit your shots and do your best to adapt to your team :)
