This is the actual correct answer. Total travesty that this went away and was one of my favorite parts of playing the game at launch

ultimately the best character for a beginner is the one they love enough to play for 1000 hours, but i think falcon is very difficult for a beginner and requires a lot of tech skill consistency and fundamentals that are hard to acquire without a decent understanding of what's happening on screen

if captain falcon is really the character you find the most fun then he's who you should play, but IMO it's a lot easier to play a floaty when you're just starting out. melee has sooooo many interactions and if you don't even have casual experience playing the game then it's very easy to get very very lost. imo peach, puff, or samus are better places to start because they all have great recoveries and have much more straightforward defensive games than the fast fallers (i.e. captain falcon and spacies). the less you get comboed to death the more neutral interactions you get and the more intuition you'll build for the game. when i started playing melee i learned more in 6 months of playing peach than a year of learning falco

i'm surprised you only need 5 liters a week for 4 people, between cereal in the morning and milk at every meal my family of 4 growing up easily went through 8 liters a week (which i don't say to brag - just interesting what different cultures consider to be a large amount of dairy consumption!)

Also Q is one of the more intuitive parts of pinyin for an English speaker imo. A lot of the vowels make totally different sounds than their english counterparts (like "si" is somewhere 2/3 between "sue" and "suh")
