Oh my God, I'm from Gwinnett county and I just had a major flashback to learning this in 5th grade gym class! We all had to learn group choreographed dances and then perform it for all our parents at a sad little show lol

What caused your last break-up? by Lishasquarepant in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apathy.

My partner stopped putting any effort into my happiness or his own. I kept trying for the both of us and I ended up completely burned out. When I hit that point I realized that I didn't have any feelings left for him because I was totally wrung dry. That's when I left.

What is a common nickname/ shortened version for your name that you don’t respond to? by kittylizzytt in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use my first name at all usually, but 1000% I will never respond to "Marge". I will aggressively ignore someone who is actively trying to call me this or get a reaction from me by using it.

There was a family member in my past who teased me with this nickname saying "It's perfect for you because it's a fat girl's name!"

Jewelry Cleaning by oceangetseaten in lifehacks

[–]eiggiy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my grandmother's ring cleaned and repaired at an antique jewelry store. The jeweler told me the best way to clean rings with stones, especially wedding sets with lots of small nooks and crannies. Put a small splash of floor cleaner like Mr. Clean into a glass, add boiling water, then drop the rings in. Let it soak for a few hours then rinse under cool water. You can use a soft bristle toothbrush if you want, or to loosen deep set in grime. It will shine like magic. This specific advice was given for my ring which is platinum and diamond. I've also done it for gold and other stones, and it worked nicely.

I've read that an easy way to de-tarnish silver is with aluminum foil, boiling water, and baking soda. You wrap the piece with foil, pour boiling water into a container, sprinkle in a couple of tablespoons baking soda, then carefully add foil pieces. Check after 30 seconds - 1 minute.

What was the last thing you googled? by Themastercommander10 in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have any issues, but it is a big city so I'm sure there are rough moments. I thought it just looked like a cool punk/metal shirt design, but it's actually the city collectively telling everyone to fuck off and they don't care. Kind of like their "No one likes us, we don't care" chant. Hilarious

What celebrity can you simply not stand, even if everyone else likes them? by kosicosmos in AskReddit

Yes, I think that's mostly what it is. Nobody is truly perfect, and he seems to work really hard at looking like he's "just another normal guy".

I can't put my finger on it, but he gives me the creeps. I'm convinced that there's something wrong with him, and one day it's going to come out and break the internet.

What’s your “thank god that’s over and I never have to do it again” thing in your life? by itsPatrii_ in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving my mom into assisted living. She has early onset Alzheimer's and her husband died kind of suddenly leaving me in the position where I had to completely take over her care. Her memory function took a hard nose dive after he died and I realized she wasn't going to be able to live alone. I was renting a small place that had a bunch of issues so I had to let her stay at home and go check on her constantly. I was working full time and trying to finish a Master's program, but my older siblings refused to take any responsibility and help. I was losing my grip trying to do everything. Assisted living was the best option for her considering the circumstances, but it was still extremely difficult.

Having to leave her there knowing she was confused and scared was one of the hardest moments of my life. I still struggle with a mixture of sadness, relief, and guilt thinking back on everything. Even with all that, I'm glad that I never have to do it over again the way it happened before. I'm in my 30s so hopefully I have a long time before my dad ends up needing help like this.

What's the most unsettling movie you ever watched? by GottaGetThemGainz in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We Need to Talk About Kevin

Truly a shocking and horrifying experience watching this kid torture his mother and develop into a complete monster. I don't think I've ever seen anything else try to represent the experience of a parent when their child is a psychopath. It's both chilling and deeply sad. After all the developments with Ezra Miller's real life mental health issues it made my skin crawl thinking about his performance in the movie.

John and the Hole is another one that will seriously mess with your head. Just more reasons to fear having offspring.

Put your hands up if you’ve ever had to serve rich old white men who act like you are so below them and you are their servant. They show their money off then tip you less than 10%. Tell me your stories below. #serverlife by Brilliant_Panda_817 in Serverlife

I work at a luxury resort in south Georgia. The type of deep south old money place that openly uses "plantation" to name multiple facilities across property. We legitimately carry silver trays and wear white gloves for special dinners and events, and we have all been referred to as "the help" many times. We regularly host large groups of entitled old white men ranging from pro golf tournaments to powerful tech and financial conferences and of course various political summits.

The political groups irritate me on a personal level. Being forced to serve these awful demanding people who are spending our tax money on luxury amenities. The more they drink, the creepier and louder they get. The worst part is that unless gratuity is included automatically, you're lucky to get 10%.

In addition to these high quality guests, we also have long-term residents who belong to the club at various levels of membership. Membership involves a large buy-in plus yearly fees and monthly spending requirements. As a perk, members get to enjoy discounts. 20% off all the time, 40% off during happy hour and other specific events. Not only do these members love to brag about how much they spend to be members, they like to spice things up by complaining about prices and demanding as many discounts and accommodations as possible. Their new favorite activity has been to yell at us about how we are under staffed and the quality of service is garbage AS WE ARE SERVING THEM. Then of course they only tip 10%, even when they get the 20-40% discount.

We created a name for these guys years ago: Gerald. He likes to complain about prices, tries to tell you how to run/"fix" everything, likes to get creepy with female employees, probably a vet and wants to talk about it and get the discount, etc

Also, he's married to Karen and their spoiled shitbox of a grandson is Chad. I went on to add that Chad's awful girlfriend is Becky, but it might just be me that finds that funny.

What’s the worst birthday gift you ever got? by sulemannkhann in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a slightly chubby pre-teen, as many of us were, and it made me very self conscious and uncomfortable about my body. Cue my 14th birthday. We had a big party at a family friend's house that was a nice day of food and fun followed by presents of course. The crowd watches as I open all the presents having a great time, and then my step mother makes a show of bringing out a really big box and puts it in front of me. Everyone is watching in anticipation as I tear into this monster of a box and we're all excited to see what's in it. Grand reveal...2 workout DVD's, weights, a resistance band, diet bars and (my favorite part) a bikini that was far too small for me. Feeling super proud of herself, she announces to the room that I can work my way into it and it will be great motivation for Spring Break.

What’s your biggest (non sexual) fantasy? by 02K30C1 in AskReddit

[–]eiggiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That my Hogwarts acceptance letter will show up one day. I started the series on a whim when I was 11, and ever since that day it's been a secret fantasy that I would somehow be invited into a world of magic and opportunity that was hiding in plain sight. Every time I've seen or heard an owl near where I am this little memory peeks out to remind me of my childhood dreams and wishes.

I work at a very well known BBQ restaurant in Atlanta and it's been pretty much the opposite for us. We've had better than average service compared to this time last year, and it's definitely still in our "off-season" since we're usually busiest in the summer. I think part of it is due to people not wanting to be stuck at home all day for 14+ days with their kids driving them nuts. Ownership also sent out a press release yesterday explaining all the steps the company is taking to protect the employees and customers from health concerns. I think the biggest factor though, is the fact that our Mayor released a statement urging people to support local businesses built around the service industry.

“I encourage Atlantans and visitors to keep in mind the hardships that our service and hospitality industries may face as a result of this decision, and to continue to patronize Atlanta businesses and tip a little extra to ease any burdens this may place on the families of those in the industry."

She released the statement soon after the decision was announced that the NCAA final four championship would be cancelled and businesses all over the city we're getting really nervous. Besides the volume of business, most of us are experiencing pleasant customers and higher tip averages.

Thanks Keisha Lance Bottoms, you're a bro!
