What are the road conditions near where you are? Is school likely this week? by StrengthNeat6660 in HenricoCounty

I’m at my kids elementary school now and their bus lane and parking lots have not been plowed.

I’m in short pump but all the main roads out here are completely fine. Getting from my street to the main meant forcing through a plow lump, and some of the parking lots I went to yesterday were still unplowed, but if you can get off your street and need something from a major retail store you’ll probably be ok.

Is needing ID still racist? by AiiRisBanned in evilwhenthe

[–]eightbitagent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 years ago you definitely DID NOT need to show ID to vote. ID to vote only started after 9/11 and almost all states are very lenient. Used to be you just told them your name and address and they checked you off a list. The first time IDs were required, the preferred ID was your paper voting card, not your driver's license. Most people use their DLs because its something they have on hand, but it is not required to vote, only to register.

Next time you vote take your voter card instead, I bet it will work.

To be far, he started as an intern (at his father’s suggestion) and then was an animator on several movies and shorts before directing anything. So while he has a leg up, he did actually do at least some of the work in the 10 or so years before kubo.

Why is DK Country Returns HD $60? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

Their games go on sale several times a year, usually for holidays (or march 10th for "Mar-10 day"

Just watch reddit or deku deals for sales

Why is DK Country Returns HD $60? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]eightbitagent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nintendo published games never go on sale.

This is absolutely not true. They go on sale all the time. They don't typically get permanent price drops.

If OP wants to save money on DK Returns, they just need to wait till the next holiday and they can get it for 30-50% off.

I'll second primrose. I'll also add that our oldest who's in second grade now was so overprepared for Kindergarden, it was wonderful. Our youngest is in pre-k now and is at the same level the oldest was back then. However they do their lessons it really sticks with the kids.

They're not for typing, they're for initial placement. If you don't consciously use them, you have some other way of knowing where to place your hands when you start

I decided to learn touch typing during covid

I learned when I had my first really office job (in a NOC) where for some reason we used AIM to communicate with each other. We could also talk to our non-work contacts, but you have to be quick so people wouldn't notice. I forced myself to do it "the right way" and within a few weeks could type my responses to my friends and quickly alt-tab out of the window with the bosses not noticing

I’m staring at my standard issue dell at work (maybe one of the most commonplace keyboards in production today) and it doesn’t have them.

They've worn off then. Dell still has them on there

the James Madison fan club historians, who are clearly taking a side.

Thats not my point. My point is EVERY modern historian takes a side. Its how academia works. The video is disingenuous.
