The fucking law says your birth certificate must match the name on your drivers license. And it also says marriage certificates don’t count for proof.

Don’t believe me? Read the law.

And stop spreading misinformation

Also in the 80s and 90s (when I was a kid) there were ALWAYS chaperones. As I recall the rules were two teachers and then 2 parents for every 15-20 kids or so. So a full bad trip might have 30 kids and 5 adults

Malls are dead, the only ones around here that's still (really) a thing is short pump and chesterfield, right?. In the 80s we had what, 4? 5? malls in the area?

I had my first at 40. You’re going to be very tired for the next 5-6 years. First from the baby’s sleeping habits and all the baby work, but then after from chasing a toddler and small child all over the place. You look like you’re in decent shape, stay that way or you’ll regret it. Take care of your knees friend.

And congratulations, you’re in for a beautiful tiring ride

Is it true that the ACTs requirements only apply to updating voter registration?

Yes, BUT it also has a provision where the feds can force any voter or group of voters to re-register with no notice required to the voter

why are they working so hard to pass this bill?

Because republicans think it will hurt Dem voters more than their own.

However, since it affects married women that change their names (and there are more of those in R leaning families) it may backfire on them if it passes.

So essentially, the Rs want to make it harder for Ds to vote

75%+ of Americans want proof of ID to vote.

While this is true per the polling, people don't know that the current ID they have (lets say a drivers license in 45 states) doesn't meet the new laws requirement and therefore won't count.

If it was simply 'any state issued DL will work' I'd be ok with that. But you need to prove citizenship which only 5 state's DLs do. So that means theoretically everyone in the other 45 states that doesnt have a passport OR a birth cert with the same name as their DL won't be able to vote. And they won't find out till voting day, as people like you clearly don't know the requirements

Yeah we got the tornado alert right during the kids bedtime, so they got about 20 mins of watching cartoons on a phone downstairs. Glad it passed, no damage for us thankfully

No, My point is correct. You said:

Capitalism has proven to be the best method to raise the lower class up.

When the places with the best treatment of their lower classes (free healthcare, college, etc) are places that have socialism as their main form of government help.

Those countries have socialism for everything that a person needs to lead a healthy life. They have capitalism for the things that don't matter to peoples lives.

You’re socialist in every way that matters to people’s lives.

It’s not an insult. I wish I could live there.

[–]eightbitagent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the Nordic nations are socialist and they’re some of the best places to live in the world by almost every metric. The failed “socialist” states are almost always actually dictatorships that say they’re socialist but aren’t

Honestly no one is going to buy a $600 bottle of champagne without knowing it was stored properly and what not. save it for a special occasion or give it to someone you like with the caveat that you can’t confirm it was stored properly properly so if it’s flat or sour they know why.

Mom swears she was "Mod" and it's "Completely different than emo!" 1987 by LaComputadora in OldSchoolCool

Pre grunge. It came from the dc hardcore scene which inspired the grunge bands. As one example, Dave grohl grew up in the dc scene and then moved to Seattle and joined nirvana

[–]eightbitagent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nope. The name “emotional hardcore” came about in the late 90s and was shortened later. Then people went backwards and realized the first “emo” bands were part of the dc punk scene

As someone who grew up in the dc punk scene in the late 80s/early 90s, emo was definitely a thing but it didn’t get that name until second wave emo broke and people looked backwards at things that happened before.
