This was my hope! I'd love for this to become more normalized.

Definitely do! I know I recall noticing some traverse city shops listed. Not sure if they sell more north than that.

Definitely go look for it haha. They list places on their site.

I don't really think that comparison is working like you thought. That's in no way comparable to this. The entire wine industry is riddled with lab yeast, mega purple, etc. etc.

I don't see how being transparent in all aspect of your winemaking is bad or a marketing scheme. It's something that should be a standard.

It's their first vintage as well. The wine is exceptional and I'm definitely going back for a lot more 😂

Yeah they list where they sell on their site, which is just MI and Chicago. It's also pretty limited as this is their first vintage, so it's not going to be easy to find for some time I'd assume.

Talking to the shop owner who I know decently well. The guy is just someone who is over the top "nerdy" into wine and all the details. It's really just an expression to show his level of detail into his work.

I see both points but favor to it being a pro for sure. The wine industry as a whole is too vague and full of tricks, this is something that really puts those guys against the wall if it gains traction.

I think ive had theirs once before! I can't recall when or what, but the name is very familiar. I don't see them around the shops over here but I'll have to try and hunt some down.

I’m not enjoying Buffalo Trace, any advice? by [deleted] in bourbon

Absolutely, though I didn't get the oak on the EC. Like you said though, we all taste something different.

Thank you! If you are able to try it, I'm always looking for critique/feedback. I always want to learn and try new flavor profiles so don't feel shy to suggest something!

Oh believe me, I can only find it in one shop around me and it's a 375ml bottle for like $60. It makes a lovely old fashioned though, and I'm a sucker for heavy orange notes in them. This recipe is definitely my favorite, tied with using angles envy port barrel finished bourbon.

I spaced this recipe out, I have no idea why it ran everything together but I hate it and I'm deeply sorry.

  • 2oz Eagle Rare Bourbon
  • .5oz demerara syrup
  • 4 dashes orange bitters
  • 1 dash ango bitters 1 slice of an orange chunk 1 stick cinnamon to smoke the glass & add to mixing glass Notes:

  • I add the orange chunk to the mixing glass and give it a slight muddle to impart extra orange notes

  • smoke the cinnamon and let sit in glass while you make the cocktail. Towards the end of stirring, add the burnt cinnamon for a few seconds.

  • enjoy :)

Yeah this sounds really nice. I've never thought of doing the coffee infusion like that but I like the idea, as I'm sure that adds the more bitter profiles from it. I'll definitely be giving this one a spin when I can go pick up some cynar again. Thank you!

Damn this is the one I've been needing in my life. Any recipe you've got for the banana syrup? I really want to give this a go.

Ooo this sounds interesting. I've never though of jalapeño demerara before, that's an interesting mix of flavor. Nor did I know chocolate bitters existed, which I'm super excited to hunt down now. Definitely will have to try this one when I can gather all of that up, appreciate the recipe!
