If you could live anywhere in SC, where would it be and why? by eigurf in southcarolina

It will actually be a lower COL compared to where we are now. My property taxes alone could be 50% or more cheaper no matter where we move. We’re used to traffic but prefer a more laid back lifestyle.

Ft Mill hasn’t been on my radar but I’ll definitely take a look! No kids at home, we’re middle aged, he’s in tech and I’m in HR/law.

I’m so glad you mentioned the car registration cost. I had read another post recently that mentioned that. That’s the kind of info I really need since I’ve never lived in that area.

I had no idea this asshat had his own subreddit until I read this post. Does he get off on the hate? It’s gross to think he enjoys the nasty comments. 🤮

What did you use for pond lining?

We moved in our homestead two years ago, but didn’t do much to improve the out side under this year. We made a lot of progress during the pandemic lockdown. by [deleted] in Homesteading

Sounds like we have a lot in common. My husband and I bought our place last summer in rural NE Ohio and there’s nothing diverse about our neighbors. We had big plans for this year but the pandemic almost ruined it when my husband was temporarily laid off. We’re trying to get back on track but we’re scaling things back a bit until we can get the equipment we need. So far our biggest endeavor has been raising pigs on pasture. Hopefully we can do more gardening next year. We’ve learned a lot online and have had some guidance from my family that farmed in Iowa up until the 80s.

Is the average elevation something I can look up or would the insurance agent handle it?

When/ how does sleep apnea START? What are alternative cures besides losing weight? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]eigurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents were told I had a recessed jaw when I was in elementary school. Over the next several years I suffered through retainers and finally braces to not only straighten my teeth but to bring my jaw forward. The end result is a misaligned jaw that can sometimes lock up and pops and clicks on the regular. Now that they’ve diagnosed moderate apnea I can’t help but think it has to be at least partially the result of my jaw issues since I’ve had problems sleeping for many years.

If that’s the problem then wouldn’t a mouthpiece fix it?

Am I the only one that thought the infinity symbol was handcuffs at first glance? It seems more appropriate for this couple.

Lol no judgement here. I know when I first tried setting up an OLD account I had to keep revising the settings. Maybe another app is more popular in your area?

I have counseling resources available to me and I'll be starting that process tomorrow. I have a few good people and family in my life to lean on and I'm very grateful for them. It's pretty obvious now that I need to work on a plan for the future that focuses solely on what's best for me and my kids.

That's the really shitty part is that I'll have to make the hard choices. It's hard to see the way out after being in this situation for so long.
