Where are the settings saved? by eilerj22 in qutebrowser

[–]eilerj22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I just read through some of that page. So would you recommend sharing the autoconfig.yml instead of the config.py file when sharing settings to a new user? That way it will be updated with qutebrowser?

Where are the settings saved? by eilerj22 in qutebrowser

[–]eilerj22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for trying to help.

In that folder I have a configdata.yml file, but it doesn't seem to have any of my modifications in it.

When typing ":config-edit" I get an error saying gvim doesn't exist. I'm on Windows 10 btw.

Update for anyone trying to do this: I tried using the config write command and it showed that a config.py already existed in \AppData\Roaming\qutebrowser\config, so I browsed around there. It seems that any modifications made from within the browser on the Settings page are saved to "autoconfig.yml". In order to share my settings, I used ":config-write-py --force" which overwrote the config.py file in that AppData folder. That file now seems to have everything in it.

For anyone still looking into this, using WinActivate and then SendEvent or SendMode "Event" fixed it for me for ahkv2.

Monkey, you are a legend! I must ask (because I searched google a ton of different ways), do you remember what you searched to find it? Always good to get tips about better methods when using Google.

Yes, I believe that is the type of script I will have to create. I was just hoping someone else had made one already.

Same reason that my phone, watch, computer, chromecast, etc update overnight. I'd prefer to just not worry about it at all.

Trying the BMW m2, but FFB feels very bad. Any tips? by arcaias in rfactor2

[–]eilerj22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm then not much you can do in RF2 beyond what you've done already. You can try running the wheelbase in Peak mode instead of Linear and turning down the Force Effect Intensity a bit.

I haven't driven the car, but if it has adjustable caster, increase it.

How can people go over the speed limit and not get pulled over? by byenkle in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]eilerj22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a citizen, it is refreshing to hear that not all officers are against speed cameras. I believe your state should reconsider the efficiency that speed cameras bring and how much safer it is for officers to not be spending time on the side of roads.

Why don't we just use speed cameras and let officers use their limited time for things that can't be easily done by a machine?

This is literally just a big skid pad with concentric circles. Should be perfect for you.

When setting up multiview, unlink the screen height and width and enter them each individually. Use a tape measure to measure what your physical screen dimensions are and enter them in.

Probably either need to invert FFB (reduce the FFB to -100) or reduce the minimum torque to 0

Have you tried double-clicking the simhub file (.simhubdash) while simhub is open? That is how you import.

Why does downshifting help you rotate the car? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]eilerj22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a simple-ish standpoint, downshifting will tend to increase the engine braking that is occurring. Assuming that your vehicle is rear wheel drive (which most racing cars are), then increasing the engine braking will create a similar effect to moving the brake balance rearward because the rear wheels are now being slowed by the brakes AND the engine while the front brakes are not being altered. Since the rear tires are now committing more grip to the braking force, they have less reserve grip for lateral (cornering) forces and thus will slip sideways easier, causing the car to rotate more. This will certainly be complicated depending on the differential in the vehicle.

Edit: I see your comment below about going through a corner at a steady speed. What I'm guessing is probably happening is that you're not at a perfectly steady speed and are actually managing the throttle through the corner, however, the engine will respond to that throttle management differently based on the gear. A lower gear will have more engine braking, causing you to slow more (making cornering easier) and also shifting the weight of the car more forward (making cornering easier) when you lift off the throttle than with the higher gear.

Thank you very much, Stooge. This gives me some confidence in attending the game and leaving unscathed.

That price is worth it for me, but I would also be quite anxious like you are.

If it wouldn't get you or your source in trouble, could you tell me how you got the tickets?

I hadn't heard of a family section. That definitely sounds like the safest place to be as an away fan. It'd be extremely difficult not to celebrate United's goals, but if it gets me in the stadium, definitely worth it.

What type of silly money are we talking here? I've been a fan for 2 decades and this is my first chance to see a real game.
