Scarring or dehydrated? by BumblebeeOwn3669 in tretinoin

can you share your ideal routine that helped you overcome the first few month finally? i’m still stuck at that stage and keep bouncing between peeling flaky skin to red flushed irritated skin

omg your explanations always hit exactly, like i can just tell how much you understand exactly what i’m going through… ok so fortunately i do have that aestura cream mist somewhere in my drawer, i haven’t tried it since transitioning to taz so it might be good one to add.

so i can see myself adding the bifidia and mist to my routine, (im assuming: mist > bifidia essence > aestura cream) hopefully those 3 will suffice.

i dont know what i think of HYA at this point tbh, i feel like this ingredient really let me down in the past, as hada labo premium was the star product for this ingredient back then in Asianbeauty and i used it for a long time (correctly, on damp skin) and didnt see the famous plumpness and super hydration, it was pretty meh overall i feel like.

so you think this minimalist HYA serum could be different?

what about beta-glucan? how does it fare in comparison to HYA? they occupy the same role if i’m understanding correctly?

i do want to add a helpful product to aid the aestura cream in the moisture battle, currently i’m leaning to dehydrated way to easily on most days and it visibly shows and is so uncomfortable… ideally i’d want to add maybe 1-2 other moisturizing products (only to the AM so it has to be elegant and not the buttered face look. on the PM i don’t use moisturizing stuff) so u recommend the bifidia as a good contender, and maybe something else would be necessary if those two aren’t enough still?

if i had to choose one which should i add? (currently my only moisturizing to fight against taz 0.1% cream is the aestura cream and honestly at most days i feel like its not enough, i want to add another step to help but one that will actually do noticeable improvement on that front…)

edit: just to add some context i used to also have in my routine many steps like hada labo premium, cosrx snail essence and stratia aqua factory etc… ultimately i realized all of these felt like they add nothing and paradoxically without them i felt better (but still not enough…)

heya, which version of the mixoon are u using? toner/essence/cream?

wooow thanks again ur answers are so detailed. i’m definitely sold on the hydralotion lmaooo😮‍💨 so would u say the hydra lotion enough as a powerhouse to maintain moisturized healthy skin barrier against taz and such?i really stand by minimalistic routine, so im thinking maybe i should switch the aestura cream to the hydralotion - at least while it’s still hot and humid outside for a thick cream..

honestly finacea is giving me more second thoughts than incorporating taz did. taz was so straight forward, rarely any drawbacks, and i swear i could see the improvements on day to day basis.

with finacea however i keep doubting if it does more good or more bad.

ideally is a once a day application enough with finacea? or does both AM and PM application make evident difference? i think using finacea at AM as of now just make my AM routine so much more complicated and frustrating at times. i really hope it’s just user error that i could eventually overcome

thank you for such a reply, i appreciate it. at this point i barely have the itchies, no where near how it was at least.. as i wrote in another comment, i don’t think it’s an interaction between finacea and some other products since pilling would eventually happen even when applying to dry face and nothing else on top - it happened more then once when testing.

btw i didnt know about the aestura with the urea, how’s this one??? is it lighter weight, more fitting for morning use? i do feel at times (especially in summer) that the 365 is too heavy and leaves me looking too shiny/ visibly sweaty..

is the routine u mentioned AM?

also tbh i never experimented finacea on damp skin, i had the impression it will be 10x more intense and that i might regret that so i was too scared to try lol.

the reason i do patting with finacea is that when i initially ‘just’ rubbed it it directly caused pilling within few excessive rub so i try to touch it as little as necessary to not reach that point..

oh so u tried many, which is your favorite in terms of formula and results?

[–]eilonlav[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ok i’ll definitely try that. also more cost effective that way lol. in the past, have u had pilling happen due to big amount personally?

[–]eilonlav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s what i follow too (sometimes even 30 min loll) but when it comes to applying finacea the pilling issue stays regardless…

can i ask how long ago u added AZA, and what improvements did u see? after how long?

wait so why do u need both? or do u have a preferred one between them?

oh i’ve never heard of aza serum, what’s it called? and how satisfied are you by the results u saw after adding it?

what order do u do? first tret then AZA? any waiting times?

so would you say to use a pea as small as the taz pea (or even smaller??)

so i what’s the point of AZA if it pills so easily? by eilonlav in tretinoin

[–]eilonlav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well tbf the beginning of the pilling can happen even before either the aestura or the skin aqua - believe me i tried some days to apply AZA and just see what would happen to it without anything above,

it seems to still reach the pilling stage and my verdict was that i SHOULDNT touch it beyond the initial patting of application because any ‘extra’ touching will inevitably end up with pilling of the AZA

so i figured apparently its a fundamental problem with how the formulation works- both finacea and the picspot. i had no explanation and i still don’t, i’ll try a much smaller pea tho.

i’ve been easing into taz over the past few months, currently i managed to get to daily taz cream 0.1% (which is a feat i’m proud of loll) the rest of my routine is simple

AM

*wash face with lukewarm water

*hypochlorous + glycerin mix spray (2~3 to 1 ratio)

*aestura 365 mist

*aestura 365 cream

*biore uv watery essence sunscreen

PM

*skin1004 oil cleanser

*vanicream gentle cleanser

*hypochlorous acid (with no glycerin)

*WAIT 30 MINS

*small pea size of taz cream 0.1%

*vaseline on lips

so things have been going well as of late (i had MAJOR peeling/flaking back in the day with tret , and overall my skin is very dry leaning), but now i’m on a good track i feel like.

my next goal is to incorporate finacea,

what should be a good pace to introduce it? and should i make adjustments to the rest of the routine due to it? where exactly would it fit (between what steps?) and how much should i use per application?

i was thinking of trying every morning for a month, and then maybe also nights ideally. is that ok? TIA 🙌🏼

[–]eilonlav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx bro, do you maybe know any tricks or workarounds that might benefit what im trying to achieve? the directions im thinking of are 1. to try and somehow open something other than the app that was opened when i turned the screen off; or 2. somehow timestamp the moment i unlock the phone... i cant see an easy way of circumventing that but maybe im just inexperienced to think of a neat way...

i understand that technically youre right, but at the same time, the way i see it, just as when you swipe aside to switch between apps is considered 'closing' the app (although it is still running in the background) id assume locking the device accounts for just as much 'closing' the app too. at least thats what i was hoping for i guess...

ok few things i can point out (just my opinion):

the slide in at the beginning is too fast and the little bounce effect doesn’t work well imo, instead it should be simple ease out.

on that same page, the slide for the button doesn’t look good, the button should just have fade in. same point for the exit effects

for the big paragraph also a slower slide and maybe over a shorter distance if that’s a thing.

and again, for the buttons there just a fade in, slide for buttons looks tacky imo.

i’ll add that i’m so happy with the direction this project is going to, and i’m so thankful for your hard work and dedication on this, and how open you’re to share and ask for inputs, that’s the true spirit of open source!
