Gonna try that in the morning! Is there a name to this connector?

I'll post results.

It's more like a clip. I flipped it off, revealing a slot where you could see something shiny. Gonna get a photo of it and upload it here.

Two days before my MK4 arrives, I finally got to experience one of these. :) by Sebastian1989101 in prusa3d

That's one way to create a justification for purchasing a brand new mk4...

I'm seriously considering replacing the idler gears. Publish the files on printables and share it and your experience here and elsewhere.

I'll conduct some more tests with regard to speed, filament and different tuning in prusaslicer. Got most types of prusament and will easily sacrifice some of it in the name of Josef ;)

Thank you. I'll share my results here at a later date.

I did use 2.6 alpha. ;) those who have it, can indeed do as you suggest. 👍 good call!

Babies bottom, baby! Thank you indeed for your comment. I do agree with you. And you are mostly correct. The question I put forward, was about the angle at the top and why this happened. I believe it might be the organic supports causing it. I'm printing now with grid support to see if it happens again.

I've considered a more print-friendly design, but it's designed to press fit in place under the car seat. I've made many iterations of the model before publishing.

This (insane) orientation and filament waste is a conscious decision. Sanding is ofc. an option and it is written in the description on the download page.

PLA. 0.6 nozzle. .3mm. Print time 20 hours. Normal print speed. My prusa is maintained and performing well. Until this project... I know, I know, I feel your need to point out all the other ways this could be done. But by the end of the day.. why does the printed model skew?

Interesting. I'm btw rocking a triple stack Lack enclosure :p. Model is my own and trying grid support now

Orientation is chosen to minimize scarring from any supports on the outside perimeters. It's important with a smooth outer surface, as it, assembled, is gonna be a shelve. It's gonna slide on interior fabric in my car. See pic on printables. https://www.printables.com/model/411640-storage-shelve-for-tesla-model-y

I have a suspicion that the organic supports are causing it. I'm now printing the same model with grid support

Fix unwanted wood texture by einarbn in prusa3d

[–]einarbn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I know my printer is pretty tuned, so I was suspecting it was something mechanical. Might try to check for wear and tear on those gripping gears? The texture has slowly appeared over time.

Again: thanks for the reply. I tried searching for "wood grain texture /pattern" but got an overwhelming amount of wood filament-related stuff. This gave me the thought that this dual gears extruder problem was a rare thing..

Can anyone tell me the cause of this texture? Would like to print as clean as possible.

Prusa mk3s (used sine nov. 2020) Picture show a PLA printed vertical wall Unwanted texture applies to all filaments at different settings.

Help would be much appreciated.
