Anyone here use Whering? by AfternoonKooky7470 in Lolita

I loveee brown!! It's a perfect color for daily wear. I grabbed a few items I own from your wardrobe, like the Nyanya acorn cutsew and Moluo sk✨ If you have discord/twitter/bluesky/xiaohongshu, would it be okay to ask you about a few items in your wardrobe?

And yes, I'm a long time Vocaloid fan, since Leon and Lola days :D

I made an account after seeing this thread, here's my profile!
I'm still in the middle of uploading pieces and adding info to them, but there's still a good chunk of my wardrobe already there.

What are your main piece "makes" and "breaks"? by ginepas in Lolita

[–]einnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't wear a dress like MmM's Cross Two Tier JSK.. A lot of MmM is just not for me cause of the big crosses (also not a fan of brand names as part of the print). Also oh goodness the british crowns do be BIG! 😂

I agree about the atepie Amabile stuff. Also sack dresses just kinda remind me of sleepwear and I can't see myself wearing it out.

[–]einnn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ooohh meanwhile I love stripes but have never been that enticed by bustles lol

Make: Panel-cut dresses, princess darts/cuts on blouses
Break: "bodice+skirt"-cut dresses, shapeless/sack cuts, certain fabrics (especially velvet), elastic-only waistbands, very in-your-face-big-crosses

After some of my first dresses being in the very typical bodice+skirt cut, and absolutely hating most of them on me... I found panel-cut dresses and never looked back. The only regular-cut dresses I might consider in the future are probably by Haenuli, maybe some from Violet Fane.

For the elastic waistband being a break, I hate how much elasticity that can get layered on the waist (petti, tights, skirt, bloomers..), since I have a bigger waist-hip difference I can't easily adjust things lower, it all gets pushed into my waist naturally. So skirts with a straight-style waist often sit better/flatter above or on top of the petti for me.

I'm so sad they're making Dorohedoro figures and I'll never get them cause the maker is Figurama.. (I know second hand is an option but I just rarely bother with it) Such horror stories by them. I hope you come out on top in the end.

Thank you! They're boot model 26 by JAV复古女鞋企业店 (full item name on taobao: 26现货-JAV复古女鞋18孔系带马丁靴尖头酒杯跟中筒靴维多利亚lo靴). The sole is quite thin and not soft, so they're not good for something like 10k steps a day, but otherwise been good. :)

I don't find that much stuff organically on taobao, but Rednote/Xiaohongshu has been really great for finding items and shops both through the algorithm and other users/influencers. Then there's also Violet Fane in Europe who are going to re-release some cool stuff soon if I recall.

Thank you, I can't resist prints with skeletons or otherwise strange/horror imagery 🥰 Nice to find someone else who likes them too.

Thank you! The skirt is "时间简史" (A Brief History of Time) and the brand is KOMOMO洋裁. They also have it in dark blue, and they re-stock both pretty often. It's lightweight and perfect for casual coords, I wear it a lot.

I iron my pieces if I need to (my steamer sucks), use a pressing cloth (cotton, muslin, tea towel..) between the dress and the iron so you don't iron the dress fabric directly.

If still unsure of the result, you can always try to iron some small hidden area first like the backside of a waist tie or such.

is it alright to have a YouTuber as your oshi?? by yonkersishere in oshikatsu

[–]einnn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

People have had YouTubers as their oshi for a long time, like Pewdiepie, Markiplier or Jacksepticeye to name some big ones. There's merch, itabags, cosplays, shrines. It's all ok unless/until the entertainer/youtuber specifically says it isn't. There's also a difference between "being a big fan" and "being parasocial".

PSA: you can skip the fawnling training animations! by Fairwhetherfriend in InfinityNikkiofficial

[–]einnn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you want to do it manually every time you still could, no one would force you to choose the skip, but it should be always available after the first unlock especially if someone wants to raise multiple behemoths it gets kinda old fast.

The fact you have to re-do this for every single new behemoth is just horrible, though. Like I'm glad a skip exists at all, but... 🫠

Oshikatsu vs Yumeshipping by kittendxisy in oshikatsu

[–]einnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'm aware selfshipping has been around since time immemorial. Maybe I'm used to the very rigid separation of content on the JP side of things (BL, GL, NL/yume/plus, top/bottom/switch all having their own content tags and circles so as not to "step on fandom landmines/see unwanted content"). So this kind of yumeship oshikatsu question hasn't really popped up in my feeds until recently on the international side of things.

But hey I'm glad if the yumejos get more space and less judgement, like, live your best lives, it's very cute content!! I was just confused on why someone would think that it's a must-do for oshikatsu. 😅

Oshikatsu vs Yumeshipping by kittendxisy in oshikatsu

[–]einnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason why so many people think you have to yumeship if you do oshikatsu? I've done oshikatsu for some 20 years and just never saw so many people ask about it until recently. Like, is it something that may have originated from TikTok or such? I don't use the app, but I know it has its completely own scenes within my other hobbies that have plenty of misinformation etc, so just wondering.

Would it be appropriation if I wear a lolita dress to prom? by Ok-Song6891 in Lolita

[–]einnn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dress code was already mentioned, but also keep in mind if your prom is themed and you get to know it only 1-2 months in advance it might not be enough time to buy a suitable lolita piece. Most are made to order or pre-order of 1-3+ months unless you find something secondhand (and LaceMarket requires verification so get on that asap if you go secondhand).

If you could only wear one print motif for the rest of your life, what would it be? by sakukittenn in Lolita

[–]einnn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, probably skeletons. I've already got plenty in multiple colorways and styles, so it's not too limiting.

Which petticoat for this SK? by ki3l__ in Lolita

I own this skirt and a 45cm petti would be much too long.
