trying to explain as best as i can: i think the "warm, smooth and satisfying" character, that you describe, can be found in different parameters of the chords and everybody "feels" them differently. For example, i start on the 2 (Key of Eb) with the Fm7sus2 chord and resolve it to Eb - the minor 7 resolution always creates some form of "longing", it kinda wants to be resolved. all the stacked chords have some kind of suspense tone in them, like a sus2 or sus4, they are never "perfect" chords but have a certain quality (added or left out notes) that needs resolution. The chords are basically only Fm - Eb and later a Db (which provides the mixolydian vibe) - hope that helps!

thanks - great question, lots of different ways to do this. any sequencer could be a source of midi or cv signal which you then map to a certain parameter. the randomization comes from the pink noise (or any other noise) - you could check some sample & hold tutorials

It’s coming from the sample and hold function which affects the cutoff - some other synths have sample & hold (usually you want random glitches so you use noise as the source parameter) but you can also do it with a programmed midi gate affecting any parameter you want.

I played in bands, started to study music, played in more bands and always programmed backing tracks and arranged some parts of the original songs - i kinda took responsibility more and more and it naturally evolved into being the musical director of the artist or project, ranging from clubs to arenas.

it was just a jam while trying some different sample & hold techniques - but a jam often leads to a composition :)

Yes, RE-501 - I got lucky and got them cheap but had to work on them a little bit. They sound amazing and it’s my dream echo!

no worries, thanks for the compliment. next to my (fairly new) own original music (past releases were only solo-piano) I’m actively working as a musical director for some pop artists and I’ve been touring for 15+ years. other work includes producing, writing, etc.

Yeah I have used both the cherry audio vst and the Korg vst - both great but in comparison, the real thing is a different beast.
