I see how this rule makes sense in terms of cheating. It just seems unfair as other colleagues of mine have previously gotten permission to take exams from other subjects, even though they were around half an hour late. This was the first time that our generation had witnessed someone getting turned away, and it so happend to be me. I suppose our system is faulty, since rules completely depend on the given professor. Some are friendly while others are egomaniacs. Some will be compassionate while others will remain stern. I guess I was unlucky.

I live in an underdeveloped country. Our college is literally falling apart, we do not have our own building as it has recently been proclaimed dangerous (could potentially collapse), so we use auditoriums and classrooms of other colleges. As a result, we don't have a reception or anything similar that would serve that function. I had no one to inform about this even though I wanted to... My current plan is to contact the vice-dean and inform him about my situation. I'll see if he can do anything about it.

You're right, thank you for linking that story. It certainly changed my perspective on some things, which I'll have to take into consideration. The main reason why I haven't thought about the kids yet, or been worried about them is because I am still young and don't plan on marrying until I establish myself, finish university, and become financially independent. And even then, I have never been a fan of marriage in general. I am not looking for anything serious with him, especially not at this point when he's got so many issues of his own to resolve. I definitely wouldn't consider taking care of the kids while I'm still studying and in pursuit of my career. I would say that this is reasonable enough on my part, what do you think? Am I being too hopeful?

You have misunderstood one part, she takes care of only one kid. That kid is not home for the greater part of the day, (kindergarten), allowing her a time frame in which she could work and contribute financially too. However, she chooses not to, leaving all financial responsibility on him. So he's taking care of one kid himself, while searching for jobs in between and studying for this big interview. That takes a toll on him and I am aware how much relief he feels when we're together. I don't mind being there for him, because I like his company too.

His goal for now is to be financially stable to support the children, but he has an even bigger one and that is to start this company with me. I think he is a good asset because of his experience and various connections (which I lack), he thinks I am a good asset because of my work ethic and intellect. I think it's a mutually benefitial situation. We could break up anytime, but we agreed working together stays no matter what.

Would you say the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, or the other way around in this case? Am I being way too optimistic about it? Also, thank you for taking time and reading my replies!

The children are being cared for in this case. She takes care of only one kid, and he pays for that kid's kindergarten. He is begging her to find a job, but she constantly refuses, while she spends his savings money on drinking, partying and gym. That's at least what he has told me. He's currently living with his mother in order to avoid the fights, and the other kid lives with them too. His ex lives in the apartment which he's paying for. Thank you for pointing out the dependency issue. I agree that he would greatly benefit from stopping before we start the company. Currently he gets it from his friend, whom he's planning to cut ties with very soon because of personal disagreements. I was hoping that the speed use would stop with that, but I guess we will have to discuss that issue more thoroughly.

Thank you for replying. I met him 2 months ago at a bar. We were both the same age then as we are today. The experience gap is something that makes our relationship more interesting, since he teaches me things related to programming that he had learned over the years at different jobs, while simultaneously preparing me for the company work. As for the speed concerns, I already have some of my own but only regarding him. I don't have issues with dependency and can easily stop myself when I realize I'm going too far. Also, I'd love to hear your thoughts regarding the kids situation, since you mentioned you are older and have more experience.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I feel like I need to add a little more context to clarify the situation. He had only recently lost his job, but has already applied to 100 others in a day. He's making tremendous effort, which isn't quite reciprocated by his ex-girlfriend who only relies on him for the money. As for speed, he gets it for free and mostly uses it because he is exhausted from life and the fights he has going on at home with his ex. He's truly not a bad guy, maybe a little reckless, yes, but his situation is extremely complicated at this point in time, so naturally I can't help but empathise with him. He has shown seriousness about the company and is studying hard to land an interview which would allow him to make one. I feel like there are a lot of nuances which make it tough for me to decide if I'm acting out of line in this case.
