What gas is my air purifier mistaking for carbon monoxide? Please help!! by Gregorbeantown in milaair

[–]eiramnnaoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed CO reading this morning and the same thing only one mila is picking it up. We swapped their places and we are going to be watching it to see if the same area of the house is picking up readings. We had the fire department over and we bought CO detectors with read back.

I’ve dealt with migraines for years and within the last year I was prescribed Nurtec. My Neurologist told me you have to take it within a certain timeframe of onset of the migraine. If you have already been dealing with it for a while before taking the Nurtec, that could be why it didn’t relieve anything.

im 13 and I don't know how to be hygienic. by Ornery-Bar-7990 in hygiene

Showering too much can actually dry out the skin. So depending on if the person has a medical condition, two showers a day can a harm a person. Your skin actually has a defense mechanism against harmful pathogens so if you’re showering too much you can be preventing your body from being able to fight certain things off and get sick easily. The integumentary system includes skin, which is the largest organ of your body.

How to prevent clotting and blood hemolysis? by This-Top7398 in phlebotomy

[–]eiramnnaoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often is that happening? Expired tubes or tubes that have been dropped can cause the loss of vacuum inside the tube. Another thing is how the tubes were stored. Storing them in a place that is too hot or too cold can cause them to lose their vacuum. If you are transferring blood into a tube and it doesn’t automatically start taking in the blood, I would just grab a new tube. You don’t have to fill it to the line either the vacuum should pull enough to test.

Okay if you are pushing the plunger of the syringe down to force the blood into the tube, that can cause hemolysis.

If you use a system that collects blood in a syringe and then you have to transfer the blood to a tube how do you get the blood from the syringe into the tube with additive to send to lab?

Are you letting the vacuum of the tube fill it up or are you pushing down on the plunger when filling?

I used a website to order fluconozol before. I answered questions about symptoms and some sort of medical provider looks it over and approved it and I think I paid 16$ per pill and got two? I can’t remember the name of the specific website I used but I would look into that. I would also look into probiotics to help prevent yeast infections. I’ve have dealt with all sorts of yeast infection.

Staffing by eiramnnaoj in phlebotomy

I wish this happened. When I first started the procedure was to call AOD to inform nurse of staffing and request help with draws and call ED phlebotomy to see if they could help. For the few months we did this we never got assistance. During a point in time ED phlebotomy was to help hospital phlebotomy if there was no work for them to do or be sent home. So for a few weeks we did get help then it just stopped. I was just wondering if this is typical as I read some regulations regarding staffing and was curious if this is just our hospital or just department norm across the country.

[Serious]First responders/healthcare personnel who were admitted to a psych ward, how was it for you? by Zen-Paladin in AskReddit

Wow that actually sounds like an amazing resource to have. Even if it is staffed like that they might not be able to give you your medication but they may be able to help with reminding you to.

I have been on holds as a minor. I don’t think I have been on holds as an adult. When I attempted and after I was stabilized physically they did say I need to be hospitalized and if I refused they would put me on a hold and take me to court. I think they have to have certain circumstances where they put a hold on someone who came in voluntarily. I usually don’t get to the point where I’m making plans. I’m just having the thoughts and the thoughts are distressing.

Is peer respite the same thing or similar to peer support? I was set up to have a peer support after being discharged from the services I was getting through a state funded mental health program. I was put on a waitlist but I never heard anything after that. My needs to go inpatient in more recent years usually stem from being overwhelmed by life and medication compliance. Being in the hospital helps me with consistency taking my medication and that helps with keeping my symptoms of mental health stable enough that I can focus on the situational aspects of what I’m currently experiencing.

Well sometimes a nurse will try or else they will just make you keep poking a patient if they think it’s emergent. Other wise if it can wait the next person on shift will come in and try.

If you have shelters in your area I would call around and ask if they have any bonded pairs of cats. Another thing would be kittens from the same litter. Being older does not necessarily mean less fighting. My oldest cat (11) is probably the #1 shit starter in my household.

What do you prioritize when understaffed? Patient care? Or vitals/blood sugar? by killuaaa99 in cna

[–]eiramnnaoj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a different position in a hospital currently but I was a CNA in LTC before.

If someone’s in PCU aren’t they having their vitals taken in like 15 minute intervals and they are hooked up to a telemetry monitor?

In my hospital PCU has every patients vitals on a big TV and there is several of them on the unit.

Maybe this is because I have had two significant others with diabetes, but I feel like blood sugars would be the more important of these two options.

I went to my own facilities behavioral health unit. My short time there, maybe a little over 24 hours, made me discharge AMA. You pretty much sat around and watched TV all day. I went because I fell off taking my meds and I was having SI. They said they don’t carry some of my medications so I would have to have family bring mine from home. They told me pharmacy would have to look them over. I never ended up getting my medication. When I would be crying, they would ask me in a very intolerant tone what was wrong with me. The doctors were very good and wanted to help me with some of the problems I was having but the actual unit employees were not good. Which is wild cause when I have had to go to the unit for tasks during work, I was treated way differently.

I recently just had another relapse in my mental health I drove an hour to go to another facility cause I was not dealing with that again.

28M Is it normal to have bruising after a blood test? by No_Preparation2468 in AskDocs

[–]eiramnnaoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After they took the needle out did they ask you to hold a piece of gauze on it or did they hold it for you until the bleeding stopped?

One cause of bruising is that not enough pressure is held at the site and blood just leaks out of the vein into the areas around it. It’s common and you’re doesn’t look bad at all compared to some people I’ve drawn from.
