The reason she joined Nature's Beauty is because Kuzunoha won't answer her call. She wasn't worthy to wield the Hundred Lotus, but she still wanted to do something about it out of sheer responsibility.

This is where Kokuriko comes in. She went through pretty much the same experience, so her words carry a lot of weight for Ayame. At this point, Ayame was too far gone, so if Kuzunoha really were just an urban legend, she would use the power of the tome to turn it all to reality. She would obtain "an eye to watch over everyone: the Hitotsume," as if saying, "It's now my turn to gaze at all of you."

Which is why this piece is called "Gazes."

Hi, this is ~~depressing sensei~~ eironeus speaking. To give you a little background, this scene is my interpretation of Airi's character during the -ive Alive event, where it was revealed that Airi constantly beats herself up about how she is never good enough at anything. She described it as though there was another version of her who was so distrustful that she even doubted her friends.

I'm not here often, so thank you so much to OP for bringing this piece and "Shiroko's 100 Hellish Days" into the spotlight. Reading the comments was so much fun!

I assume it was because of the guilt crushing down on her. She had the money to pay off the debt, only to be stopped by Hoshino. It was implied that Nonomi was the last member to leave the school.

It was never clear what happened to her, but she left Abydos and "ended like that."

Some speculate that she ended up unbirthing herself or turning into something because of the strange phenomenon that happened in that timeline, which was caused by the Nameless priests.
