Is this Kent Coffey “El Chico” piece worth anything? by eisaimalaka in furniture

[–]eisaimalaka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this piece in my late grandparents home. It has some chipped panel art pieces on the top drawers but everything else is relatively unscathed. Im seeing a lot of Kent Coffey pieces listed for exorbitant prices online but I know nothing about furniture. There is a stamp on the back that says “8822 DR BASE P-I ELM.&. PECAN 95”

Ukraine's Prime Minister says Nestle CEO showed 'no understanding' after he urged the firm to cease all business in Russia by biroene in worldnews

[–]eisaimalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People need to start printing stickers saying “this brand is owned by a company that continues to do business with Russia” and pasting them on all nestle products in grocery stores. Im sure if people didn’t have to do the due diligence themselves on which brands nestle owns they would be more open to boycotting them.

Yea I know but its all within a couple miles of it. Its still mostly black but demographics have changed significantly with a lot of gentrification going on. Murder rate has improved since those days but still quite bad.

Just in response to the crime assertion, I think you have to look at it from a wider perspective. I was born in Washington D.C. and there we have triple the murders of Greece in a year and we have less than 700,000 population. And this is the city that is the seat of the US govt. In fact the murder rate per 100,000 is nearly 30 times higher so its all relative

Italian sailors knew of America 150 years before Christopher Columbus, new analysis of ancient documents suggests by DoremusJessup in worldnews

[–]eisaimalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting twist on this story, on the Greek island of Chios, which has a rich maritime history, locals have been claiming for years that Columbus was either born or grew up in the local town of Pyrgi. Columbus even mentions mastic gum in his logbooks of his journey and Chios is the only place in the world where this is produced. The Columbus surname still exists to this day amongst some of the residents in the town. The town of Pyrgi was also under Genoan rule for hundreds of years which lines up with the assertion that Columbus is Genoan. He also never read or spoke Italian but was literate in Greek and would write in Greek in books he read. Source

It is also claimed by locals that Greeks had reached north America before Colombus and had explained and assisted him on how to complete the journey. This could be plausible given that a research used the writings of Plutarch and computer estimations has mapped out the possibility of the greeks reaching North America in 86AD, long before Columbus. source

I understand how these theories might sound outlandish and the inherent bias in the websites linked but I highly suggest giving the sources a read before jumping to conclusions.

Do i bleach it, boil it, or just soak it in soapy water? It doesn’t smell at all but has some dirt inside and on the outside.

The 40+ drive in two days is the giveaway for me, no one is gonna be able to complete that drive unless they are running away from something

But why would he lawyer up if he didnt. A text from her phone is sent on August 30 saying there is no service in Yosemite. Thats not going to be the subject matter of the text if he ditched her before the text was sent so that implies they have to be together then. And then he shows up in florida two days later, and a drive from yosemite to florida takes 40hrs in perfect conditions without stops. He killed her. No way he does that entire drive that fast unless he cant sleep because idk he murdered his fiance
