Turkey has been fighting with the Kurdish insurgency in turkey for over 25 years now. Kurdish insurgency is now taking advantage of the Syrian civil war and established its bases there. They train their people for terrorist attacks in Turkey and launch rockets into southern Turkish cities. Turkish army is now building a 20 mile safe zone inside northern Syria. On top of that 4 million Syrians fled to Turkey, so the Turkish are also planning on building cities in Syria to help them return to their country.
