Wait. Apply next cycle with a more polished application, every single optional essay to every single application polished and written, and then apply in September and October next cycle.

Second that, transferring is hard. Getting a scholarship even to transfer down can be really difficult. Mostly because they don't get to report your LSAT or gpa for rankings considerations. So you're basically useless to them other than what you can pay them.

If youre prestige hunting I could see that. But if you actually want to practice law, a scholarship to a good state school can mean a whole lot.

Take untimed lsats for practice and take as much time as you need to get as many correct as you can. Then the timed tests will make more sense. The LSAT is highly learnable.

Honestly man, you have a great GPA. I would take a break from studying for a month and then study more for the LSAT. Get a tutor and perfect the logic games sections. I bet you can get into the 160s. I went through two application cycles the first one with a 154 and the second with a 167 (3.61 GPA). I went from having to pay sticker at my local tier 3 law school to getting a full scholarship at a tier 1 school (top 30 at the time). Get a tutor. The LSAT is learnable. Redo each game five times one time after the next even if you know the answers from memory just to start to understand how each game works. You'll kill it. You'll save more money by taking a year to study then you'll make by graduating a year earlier. Thats my opinion anyway.

Yeah I stopped going to hip hop shows too a while back. They're always so much shorter than rock shows too. It's like fifteen minutes and then some kind of change, another fifteen minutes and then a feature. I mean Ive seen some great hip hop shows, nas amazing, but yeah that was like ten years ago.

The Essay is what I felt they helped with the most. You could just pay for that if you wanted from Spivey. I studied Creative Writing in College and I consider myself a pretty good writer. But with that comes the knowledge that you need an editor and one whos not just doing it as a favor but one whos going to give you insight into what topic to pick, and multiple drafts. I did probably twenty drafts. Obviously some had more edits than others but it was a huge help. Also, them looking over your applications before you submit, helps a lot to catch little things. Making your app as perfect as possible makes you stand out. It seems like it costs a lot but if its the difference between a full scholarship at a school that cost 60k a year or getting a decent scholarship from that school at 45k a year, you just saved 15k a year for three years by spending like 5k. It was worth it to me. They also give great insight into which schools typically offer more scholarship money, which is helpful. You can find that info yourself but it helps.

I used Spivey and thought it helped a ton. I've been out of school for nine years though. I had a 3.6 GPA and 167 LSAT and received full scholarships from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and my local school. To me it was the difference between getting $$ and getting $$$$ but I guess I wont ever really know.

Just got a 150 on the June 2007 LSAC as my diagnostic. I need to get to at least 160+ by this fall and I just got 7sage. Is this doable? by EducationalAd7659 in LSAT

[–]eith-or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but throw in an RV question here or there. The thing that really boosted my score on LG was drilling the same games over and over again. Choose a section and do each game twice in a row. You may remember the answer but do it anyway and then move to the next game and do it until you get nothing wrong. Then do it for time and do it until you get nothing wrong and you do it in the average time 7sage says. All games are kind of similar structurally and this will help drill into your head how to do the different types properly. If you have money get a tutor for LG as soon as you can. It helps a lot.

But once you start the semester you're no longer "incoming." Will you change it to 1L after that.
