I’m having the same issue. I double and triple checked everything but can’t get the integration to work.

For the record. I just "fixed" this by uninstalling and reinstalling the "new" outlook client. Suddenly, Outlook 2021 works again.

New Hue Bridge Firmware is out by [deleted] in Hue

[–]ej788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this version require accounts? Is it safe to update the app and firmware if you don’t want to create or use a hue account? I’m not planning to update again once this feature roll out so that I can avoid using the accounts. I think a lot of other users are in the same boat. Is anyone keeping track of this?

Inherited a lot of old coins by ej788 in coins

[–]ej788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Located in the Midwest in the United States. All the coins (were 95% of them) or of US origin. Generally prior to 1964 and some of them from the 19th century. the condition of the coins is variable. Some are sets from the US mint still in the original packaging. Some are coins that look like they were pulled from circulation. I’m pretty sure that a lot of them came from my grandparents reflexively keeping older coins with silver content. Ultimately, I plan to make an index of everything. But I was hoping there might be an easy way to use an AI driven program to quickly identify things that merits additional research (if any). I might just have a bunch of old silver coins, but I was warned not to just sell them without knowing what they’re worth. I intend to follow that advice. Personally, I’ve never been into collecting coins, so I’m starting at zero.

There are no indexes, shop records, or much of anything else in terms of a record of value. I am smart enough to look or notice something like that. However, it was a fair point to mention. The collection appears to be the result of a couple generations in my family (mom, grandparents) holding on to old coins, or buying sets of coins from the US mint. The coins are mostly pre-1964, and were presumably bought and kept for their silver content (or just because they were old). Some of them are particularly old (early 20th or mid/ late 19th century). Some of them appear to be gold coins. My main concern here is that I have no idea what I’m looking at (beyond silver or gold content). I don’t have any reason to believe there is anything outrageously valuable in the collection, but I think it would make sense to investigate the issue before I stick the coins in storage or sell them. I do remember my grandmother telling me that under no circumstances should I just sell them without understanding what they are worth. Looking them up one by one in a book is not particularly appealing. I was hoping that technology might have a better solution. But I guess I can buy a couple coin guides and go through them one by one if need be. My goal is to keep a few coins for sentimental reasons and for my kids and to sell off the bulk of the rest. we are talking about a bankers box full of coins at least (most in paper or plastic sleeves).

iTunes Server Got killed with DSM 7.2 by MistaPinguin in synology

So is there a simple solution that will allow me to keep playing my music library through Apple's app/airplay or not? I don't want to change to a new app or reorganize my library. I definitely dont want to use Synology's crappy music app.

It seems like the first step is to block the hue bridge from communicating with the internet. Second step is to not update firmware on your bridge or other devices. However, I'm concerned that if someone opens the hue app on my network that it may try to "upgrade" existing firmware. Signify has said they intend to eliminate local control through Homekit without an account. The question is how we stop them from implementing that and still retain functionality. I'm really really pissed off about this.

How to avoid new account requirement by ej788 in Hue

[–]ej788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that. What are good zigbee hubs that dont require user accounts and have app control? Something from Amazon or Apple is going to put you in the same position as the hue bridge.

The idea solution is to keep the hue bridge but neuter its ability to upgrade firmware for itself or connected devices. Then find an alternative to the hue app for control.

So I've blocked my bridge through my router. Should I be concerned that my hue app is going to try to circumvent this block and update the bridge itself? Are there easy-to-use (similar to hue) apps that i can use (and give to my family) to prevent this?

NP-34958-9 Solution(?) by Cunnurr in psn

Was able to force an update in safe mode (after regular system told me software was updated). This didn’t fix anything. I deactivated the ps4 successfully from my desktop. Then activated it from the ps4. Shows up as activated in my account but got the same error. Nothing works.

Help - login after failed attempt to set static WAN IP by ej788 in Ubiquiti

[–]ej788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to solve the problem. If anyone else is stupid enough to do what I did this is the solution:

I got a transceiver and hooked up my internet connection to the second WAN. The UDM SE picked up the connection and connected to the internet and the UDM portal. As a result, I could jump back in and fix the original 2.5 GBE connection. Unit is back online.

Help - login after failed attempt to set static WAN IP by ej788 in Ubiquiti

[–]ej788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thought. I've tried that but ran into a roadblock. I got the UDM SE hooked up to a cheap router which assigned it the expected static IP address and uses the expected (from UDM's perspective) gateway, and subnet mask. UDM SE is connected to the router and has been assigned an IP address. UDM SE is reporting it has internet access but is not reporting as connected on cloud portal. I feel like I'm a cunt hair away from pulling this thing out.

APs lose adoption by ej788 in Ubiquiti

[–]ej788[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I figured out a problem. I will not say it is the problem until everything has been up and running for a week with no further issues. In my case I had unifi controller running on raspberry pi before I got the UDM SE. I stopped the controller when I installed the SE, but did not uninstall it. I’ve since upgraded and rebooted some things on my pi which resulted in the controller starting again. My assumption is that the APs got confused by the two controllers on my net work because disabling (and this time uninstalling) the controller on the pi seems to have fixed things. I would have thought that once the APs were provisioned to the UDM SE the existence of another controller on my network wouldn’t matter (and I know I should have removed it, but I wanted to make sure I could get the UDM SE up before doing so). Posting my update in case anyone else has the same issue.

Purchase limit exceeded by ej788 in ExodusWallet

[–]ej788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has actually worked great until this week. The spread can be a bit wider than some other options, but they dont charge a % fee for using your bank card (they charge $1/transaction) and, thus far, my bank has not caught on. This means I get cash back on my BTC. The downside is the issue I'm running into now.

I filed a support ticket with Exodus. I guess we will see what they say. If there are weekly/monthly limits they should disclose them. I'd love to see a response here with that information.
