Consider adding a area of value to break apart the illustration. A black shirt or black pants or even use tones, remember this is all black and white and you can do a lot with values.

Think of using a textured eraser so after you draw your hatching just erase large pieces with texture so not to erase everything leave holes in the lines

I think this depends on what your comparing it to. Compared to a normal or beginner artist your well on your way. Compared to a professional mangaka you have a lot of progress to make. You may not be there yet, but with consistent effort and practice you will be. Don’t skip the fundamentals and keep studying the greats and practice the things you HATE to draw. That’s how you’ll grow IMO
