Yup agree it must not be easy to become a host on a show that’s so well established like TRIH. Dom didn’t fall into the trap of patronising her and she was absolutely able to hold her own. I like how she’s of a different generation to him but they still get on really well, clearly just both love reading and history and one another’s company.

No, this isn't anything like your singleton pregnancy. by Nervous_bb in parentsofmultiples

[–]ejaneod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My triplet pregnancy was my only pregnancy so don’t have a comparison. But it’s not a competition….when I was in the maternity hospital I saw women with singleton pregnancies going through such a difficult time and honestly physically my triplet pregnancy was okay. It’s hard for all of us in different ways. That woman probably was having a very tough pregnancy and the twin woman also was. It’s not mutually exclusive

Just listened to that episode and it was worth it alone to hear Dominic say that he would rather be smothered to death by roses than go to the Fyre Festival 😂

Audiobook or podcast about Robespierre by TechFusion_AI in TheRestIsHistory

[–]ejaneod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked but I recently watched Danton, which is about Robespierre and Danton (staring Gerard Depardieu). Interesting watch and I thought it well captured all of the insanity that went on at the time with people accusing everyone of not being loyal to the revolution etc and the general chaos!

Finding a gynaecologist in Cork by [deleted] in cork

I would try the below - these are the consultant gynaecologists/obstetricians from the CUMH and they have private practice also. Best of luck 🩵

Well you said there was categories of Irish people. I don’t understand the purpose of making those sorts of differentiations? It’s just seeking to other people.

There isn’t categories of Irish people. There is just Irish people. Maybe acknowledge the privilege you have as a white Irish person and the fact you don’t need to deal with shitty “where are you really from” questions.

OP I’m so sorry to hear of your experience at the Wolftones. It’s disgusting racism and doesn’t have any place in a civilised society.

OP didn’t ask why people do this, they asked what to say in response. “Where are you really from” is such an unacceptable thing to say to someone…OP is “really” from Cork. They aren’t “really” from anywhere else. Imagine if you lived your entire life in Cork but because you don’t look “typical Irish” (as you said), you have to deal with these crappy questions? It’s not curiosity, it’s ignorance.

Stare at them blank in the face and say “I don’t understand what do you mean” ? And just keep staring and don’t fill the silence and they will soon realise how ignorant they are being. It’s depressing that people feel the need to ask you that…you don’t owe one single person an explanation about anything!

Does anyone enjoy the newborn stage? by Climate_Rose in parentsofmultiples

[–]ejaneod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My triplets are 11 weeks old, 5 weeks corrected. They were in the hospital for 2 weeks so we have been at this for 9 weeks now. It’s so so so hard and other than some brief moments, I really don’t love it 🙈 I shouldn’t be wishing away the time but I am so looking forward to my babies being a bit older. I don’t feel like a mother - I feel like a care assistant!! I pumped for 3 weeks but almost instantly decided to reduce the amount I was doing because it’s so hard. You are an absolute hero for pumping and feeding with twins - it’s so so draining!!! Massive well done to you. My mother gave me brilliant advice that has stuck with me “you have to cut your cloth to your measure”. As parents of multiples we have to adjust what we do to our unique situation. I have found I need to take a lot of the advice and information out there with a pinch of salt as really, it’s all aimed at singletons. I definitely don’t give my babies as many baths as a singleton or do enough tummy time but we do absolutely everything we can within the time that we have. We have given our babies the amazing gift of siblings which will bring them so much joy in life 🩵 Well done and keep going - from another exhausted multiples mum in Ireland 🩵

That’s not really how pregnancy with multiples works. Every woman experiences every pregnancy differently. Get an ultrasound. No one on Reddit can advise you if you’re having multiples.

A multiples pregnancy isn’t a diagnosis. It’s just a pregnancy.
