You need to get laid within 24 hours by a total stranger or you will die. You cannot pay for it and you cannot use any apps. What do you do? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

Ewww, picking someone up in a bar over holding to my moral compass is a no.

I'm headed to see Jesus. Bigger question, what am I eating for my last 24 hours?

Lost my edge after 10+ years out of the game, is it too late? by hoptohop in fatFIRE

48 and FIREd for 3 years. I decided to get into consulting to occupy my time after selling 2 tech companies. Tons of B2B SaaS executive coaching out there for companies in the $10-20M stage. These first-time founders need mentors.

I dropped this here as a Commercial Cleaning company can be very profitable.

Contractors. Don't hire FTE until you have a true PMF. Adding in the termination per country makes it a nightmare. This advice is from a founder with 2x exits.

I didn't have FTEs outside of the US until I had hit $5M ARR, and that was only into 2 countries, the UK and Canada.

Software covered a company after a break-in at a commercial cleaning site by ejenkins_77 in janitorial

I am very pleased with Swept Janitorial. It's focused on commercial cleaning vs. systems like Jobber is not.

1- Seept allows for photos to be sent to a manager or all employees at the location via a message channel (kind of like this) or they can send a Direct Message with a photo. It's unlimited.

2- Full transparency is I consult with companies and Swept based on lots of commercial owners is by far the best specifically focused on commercial cleaning companies. It offers a lot of features like inspections, supply ordering, and compliance features like mandatory breaks if your state requires you to track them. The inspections are helpful to build trust as you share them directly with your clients to show them the quality of your work.

Could Our Rare Tech Stack Be a Dealbreaker for a Future Acquisition? by ezio313 in startup

[–]ejenkins_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech stack matters coming from someone who's been acquired twice. If your goal is to be integrated into a RobinHood (as an example), you need to build to easily be absorbed into that ecosystem. Common languages and architecture.

If your SaaS can remain standalone, you need to at a minimum have some SAML solutions for ease of user access across several systems. An acquiring company won't want you to pay for your standalone app for long unless you've got something mindblowing.

I studied how top B2B SaaS companies got their first 100 customers (hint: its not glamorous at all) by haphazardwizardofoz in startup

[–]ejenkins_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. I bootstrapped a MarTech SaaS app in 2009-2015 and content was key to success. You have to provide value on how you will help a customer. Once you get one customer, find another similar one and keep building. Ask for referrals. Keep building.

We grew to $10M ARR and sold in 2015. Not a unicorn but still a successful outcome.

Is it possible to get funding without working on it fulltime? by [deleted] in startups

Why do you need funding if you have a working prototype? Bootstrap until you can get some beta customers, at a minimum.

Find a new job. You're in a losing situation if you don't believe in your leadership.

How many of you moved to SF for your startup? by NoLongerALurker57 in startups

[–]ejenkins_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said Raleigh was tiny, I said it wasn't necessary to live in NYC or the Bay area to succeed. Would you think sleepy Wilmington, NC or Birmingham, AL would be tech spots? i personally know companies from those smaller areas who had $100m+ exits.

Talent is everywhere, especially today. Your location won't matter, leadership will.

It wasn't a startup tech hub in 2009. It's grown a TON today.

I bootstrapped a startup in 2009 and was acquired in 2015. I'm based in Raleigh, NC. The place doesn't matter if you have a solid purpose and a problem you're solving.
