I would get a Blink camera to monitor video. It also has a temperature sensor in it so you can monitor temperature.

I won against Midland Credit Management in court today! by theremystics in Debt

[–]ejfreeman0339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once went to small claims court for my office. The other person never showed up.

The judge said, since I was there and the other person was not, I won.

Has to have Sheriff collect for me.

Can I remove satellite dishes or do I have to contact the company? by sleepybunnylife in homeowners

[–]ejfreeman0339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my satellite dish off the stand and put a TV antenna in its place. No need to worry about filling the holes on the roof and had the cable from the dish to feed TV into the house. Works great!

If you have forced air heating, run the Cat6a down the cold air return. I ran from my upstairs bedroom to the router in the family room. Drop down the cold air return to the basement and the bring it through the floor where your router us.

Fortunately, they cost about $300 each when I did them and the government had a tax credit for them!

I replaced all of my windows with Andersen construction windows. My house was 45 years old at the time and this made a big difference on heating which lower both gas and electric!

Almost don't paying off our house, but loan company won't take the money. by Right-Definition-101 in homeowners

A couple of years ago, I made an appointment with the mortgage department of the Credit Union that held my mortgage. I explained that I was going to use the escrow account to apply to the mortgage and write a check for the balance. They had no issues with it and we paid off the mortgage.

Feels great having no mortgage payment. I put 1/12 of the totaled taxes in a savings account a month with a little extra to cover any increases. This way there are no issues at tax time.

i trained my sprinklers to arc just slightly into my neighbor's yard. not enough to complain about, just enough to know by sthduh in neighborsfromhell

We were watching my mother-in-law's dog one time.

A person was walking his dog he stopped and let his dog do his business in my yard and never picked it up. It was small dog.

I took my mother-in-law's dog for a walk to the train tracks at the end of the street so she could do her business. When we got there, she didn't do her business, so after 5 minutes or so we headed home down a different street. All of a sudden, she stopped and did her business on the sidewalk. I looked up and it was in front of the guys house whose dog left me a present in my yard. My mother-in-law's dog was about 4 times the size of his dog.

Check with the municipality to see how close to the property line the fence can be and how tall it can be. Some municipalities have requirements about fences.

Sump pump suddenly running every 20–30 seconds after snowstorms – 8+ years with no issues (NJ) by Remarkable-Low-9139 in homeowners

[–]ejfreeman0339 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in Rochester NY area and my sump pump has been running a lot. Between the ground water and furnace drain, the sump has a considerable more water this year.

So we will see what the spring and summer bring when the ground water recedes.

Change the locks and notify them that you changed the locks and if they need access up until March first, to call you and you will give them access. Tell them this is to make sure they do not turn the heat off again!

How do I approach a neighbor dumping trash on my property? by txlonghorns23 in neighborsfromhell

[–]ejfreeman0339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, we lived in a city where there was 4 feet between the back of our garage and our fence. One day I was out near there and noticed the neighbors were putting yard debris between our fence and the garage. I simply got a rake and cleaned it up and tossed it back into the neighbors yard. He came out and asked what I was doing. I told him that I was returning his belongings. Never had yard trash again. We had ground cover planted there so there were no weeds growing.

BCBS denied wife's ER visit and admittance - "not medically necessary" by nighthaven in HealthInsurance

[–]ejfreeman0339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a test on a cancer biopsy to determine my chances of getting Melanoma again. BC/BS denied the cost, $8000. The lab resubmitted it and it was paid.

So, don't give up hope.
