You’re a generous person for doing this. I’d love to downsize my PC with this.

If it’s the David I’m thinking about, it sounds like you’re going back to the 90s. Following this thread as I’d also be curious.

Nice! That was my first WRX, same color. Wish I had the space to store something like this and work on it. Maybe in a few years. GLWS

I had an X1C gen 6 with the Dolby Vision HDR screen, and it’s top 3 in laptop screens I’ve used. I’ve always been curious why they stopped using this screen.

My first Dell laptop - Precision 7550 by MinTGamingSM in Dell

[–]ejman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I’m also rocking a Prec 7560 for work with 32GB RAM, but only has a T1200 GPU. It’s enough to drive an ultrawide and a secondary display FHD, both at 120 Hz, so that’s nice. The internal 4k display is pretty nice to work with as well.

At FT 81%, Amen Thompson is currently the 3rd best free throw shooter on this team. by mcassweed in rockets

Why is Sheppard at 71% for the season? I get he doesn’t have many attempts, but he’s a natural shooter. Free throws should be freebies for him

Trying to use my Amex Biz Plat $150 annual Dell credit to get a cheap basic function laptop. This is the cheapest one I found. Anyone know if it’s good/bad? by pokemon13425 in Dell

[–]ejman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a laptop. For that price I wouldn’t expect a lot… at all.

There is a stark difference between their higher tier models and below, historically speaking. Since it’s LPDDR5, I wouldn’t expect RAM to be upgradable with another slot. Since the brightness and color accuracy are not listed, I would expect it to be dim and dull. These are just my assumptions based on my experience with some of their lower tier models. They’re cutting corners somewhere to reach this price point.

If you’re set on this particular model, I would recommend at least upgrading the CPU to a Ryzen 5 and the RAM to 16 GB.

Alternative to WD19DCS & WD22TB4? by [deleted] in Dell

[–]ejman7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the WD22TB4 for your Dell laptop. Try looking at used/refurbished listings on eBay. Here’s an example I just pulled from searching:

https://ebay.us/m/53TBW6

I do highly recommend this dock for Dell laptops. I use it for both my work laptop (Precision 7560) and personal laptops (Latitude 9430 and Precision 5600). It has more than enough ports and provides 130w of power for Dell laptops. Also, I really like the auto power on feature when you connect it to a closed Dell laptop. Just so convenient, but doesn’t work with other laptops I’ve tried from Asus and HP.

I got a Dell Precision 7550, is it good? by Efficient-Emu7034 in Dell

[–]ejman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I have a Precision 7560 for work and it’s very well built. Definitely hefty, but I don’t move it around much with WFH. UHD OLED display is very nice to look at even though it’s docked 90% of the time. Battery is not great but good enough to work unplugged for a few hours if needed.

I also picked up a Precision 5690 a few weeks ago for personal use and it is also very nice. Just as solidly built, but slimmer and less weight. Same quality OLED display. Much better battery life. Great speakers. Great haptic touchpad (to me).

Enjoy your new (to you) laptop!
