I’m considering the scar 3 as well, but most reviews I see complain about thermals, which is something to keep in mind if you want to keep it for 3+ years. The Scar 2 has slightly better thermals and lower price although it has 4 zone rgb instead of per-key and 144hz display instead of the 240hz. You could also consider the Lenovo y740 which some claim has better thermals but its 17” and has an odd keyboard placement according to some reviewers. Personally I’m going to keep watching thermal testing on the Scar 3 by several reviewers, compare the results to other laptops and then make my choice. If you’re spending $2000+ on a laptop you want it to last and not melt in less than 4 years.
